10、Scope 1.1 This specification covers soft solders (in the form of wire or ribbon) containing one or more cores of acid flux. NOTE a) The titles of standards referred to by number in the specification are given in appendix A. b) Requirements that must be specified by the purchaser and those that must
11、be agreed upon between supplier and purchaser are listed in appendix B. c) The melting characteristics and typical uses of acid-cored solders are given in appendix C. d) Methods for the measurement of area of melted solder are given in appendix D. 2 Definitions 2.1 For the purposes of this specifica
12、tion the following definitions shall apply: batch reels or coils of cored solder that are made from one melt of solder alloy and that contain flux processed from one charge of raw material defective a reel or coil of cored solder that fails in one or more respects to comply with the relevant require
13、ments of the specification lot all those reels or coils of cored solder of the same grade, nominal size, and batch identification, from one manufacturer, submitted at any one time for inspection and testing 3 Requirements 3.1 Composition of the solder alloy Except as allowed for in terms of the Note
14、 below, the alloy shall be of one of the grades given in table 1, as specified by the purchaser, and its composition, determined in accordance with 6.5, shall comply with the appropriate values given in the table. NOTE Grades of lead-tin solder other than those given in table 1 may be supplied if so
15、 required by the purchaser. For any such grade the tin content shall be within 0,5 % of the value specified by the purchaser, and the requirements for other elements shall be as given in table 1 for the grade that has the nearest (higher) tin content. 16、sition and consistency The flux shall be of uniform composition and shall not liquefy at 20 C. 3.2.2 Solubility The flux shall be completely soluble in warm (40-50 C) water. When a solder is tested in accordance with 6.4, the soldered area shall be found to be free from residual flux deposits. 3.3 F
17、orm and size 3.3.1 Form The solder shall be supplied in the form of round wire, or of ribbon, as specified by the purchaser. 3.3.2 Wire The nominal size (diameter) of solder in wire form shall be as specified by the purchaser and shall preferably be one of the diameters given in table 2. NOTE When a
18、 size not given in table 2 is specified by the purchaser, the tolerances applicable to the nearest size given in table 2 shall apply. 3.3.3 Ribbon The nominal size (cross-sectional dimensions) of solder in ribbon form and the tolerances on the width and thickness shall be as specified by the purchas

22、nuous, uniform in cross-section, and symmetrically disposed in the solder, and the flux content of the solder, determined in accordance with 6.6, shall be not less than 1 % and not more than 4 % (m/m). 3.5 Spreading value The spreading value, determined in accordance with 6.2, shall be at least 150
23、mm2. 3.6 Activity The activity of a solder shall be such that, when the solder is tested in accordance with 6.3, it wets the stainless steel and spreads upon its surface. 3.7 Finish The surface of a solder shall be smooth, bright, and free from grease and other foreign matter and from signs of mecha
24、nical damage. 4 Packing and marking 4.1 Packing Unless otherwise agreed between purchaser and supplier, the solder shall be supplied on reels or in coils, each of net mass 500 g or 3 kg, as specified by the purchaser.
