WEBBING, TEXTILE, NYLON, LOCKING LOOP The Parachute Industry Association makes this document available for use by Industry and Government organizations that wish to apply this specification to their products. 1. SCOPE 1.1 Scope. This specification covers one type of nyl
3、on webbing furnished in cut pieces with integrally woven loops. 1.2 Classification. The webbing furnished in cut pieces shall be of the following classes, as specified (see 6.2): a. Class 1 - 2 3/4 1/8 inch between outside loop ends (see FIGURE 1) b. Class 2 - 3 3/4 1/8 inch between outside loop end
4、s (see FIGURE 1) c. Class 3 - 6 3/16 inch between outside loop ends (see FIGURE 1). 2. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS 2.1 General. Unless otherwise noted herein or in the contract, in the event of a conflict between the text of this document and the references cited herein, the text of this document takes preceden
17、ce. Nothing in this document, however, supersedes applicable laws and regulation unless a specific exemption has been obtained. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 First article. When specified in (see 6.1), a sample representative of the production quality shall be submitted for first article inspection in accorda
18、nce with 4.3. 3.2 Design and construction. 3.2.1 Physical properties. The finished webbing shall conform to TABLE I and 3.1 through 3.6. 19、ak on any one specimen shall be lower than the minimum specified. 3.2.2 Yarn. The yarn shall be a bright, high tenacity, light and heat resistant polyamide (see 3.2.1) prepared from hexamethylene diamine and adipic acid or its derivates. It shall have a minimum melting point of 472F (244.4C). The ya
20、rn shall not be bleached in any manner or in any subsequent process. 3.2.3 Weave. The weave shall be 2/2 twill for the body between the loops and 1/1 for the loop sections as shown in FIGURE 1. 3.2.3.1 Spacing of loops. For all classes the loops, in pairs, shall be as shown in FIGURE 2. 3.2.3.2 Form
21、ation of loops. By adjustment of the weaving mechanism, the loops shall be formed by reversal of the filling yarns at the center of the webbing in order to enclose each half of the total warp ends to form the sides of the loop. 3.3 Functional characteristics. The webbing shall meet the requirements
22、of TABLE I when tested as specified in Section 4. 3.3.1 Resistance to light and heat. The webbing shall lose no more than 25 percent of its original breaking strength when tested, as specified in Section 4, for resistance to heat and to light. 3.3.2 Non-fibrous materials. Residual size, finish oils,
23、 or other nonfibrous materials shall not exceed 2 percent. 3.3.3 pH. The pH value of the water extract of the finished webbing shall be no less than 5.5 or more than 9.0 when tested as specified in 4.4. 3.3.4 Finishing age. Dyestuffs, detergents, or other chemicals or finishing agents used in the ma
