Amendment- l(NAVY-Ships) March9, 1970 FEDERAL SPECIFICATION CALKING: LEAD WOOL AND LEAD PIG This amendment, which forms a part of Federal Specification QQ-C-40, dated April 15, 1963, was a

2、pproved by the Commissioner, Federal Supply Service, General Services Administration, for the use of ail Federal agencies. Page 3 4.1: Delete and substitute: 4.1 Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the supplier is responsible for the performan

3、ce of all inspection requirements as specifiedherein. Except as owerwise specified in the contract or order, the supplier may use his own or any other facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection requirements specified herein, unless disapproved by the Government. The Government reserve

4、s the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the specificationwhere such inspections are deemed necessary to assure supplies and services conform to prescribed require- ments. 4.3. 1, lines 8 and 11: Delete “L-8) and substitute IS-4” respectively. 4.3. 1: Add the following: When Govern

5、ment source inspection is specified in the contract or purchase order, type II calking wool shall be selected in accordance with MIL-STD-105 at inspection level IIIwith an acceptable quality level (AQL) of 2.5 percent defective. ” Page 4 4.4.2, line 10: Delete 1L-8 and substitute IS-4”. 6、.1 and 5.2.2. 1.1: Delete in their entirety and substitute the following: 5.2.2.1 Type I. Type I lead pig (see 3.3.1),shall be palletized in accordance with thelevel B require- ments of MIL-N-3944.
