POWER-SENSING ThZa specification is approved for use by the Naval Sea Systems C-d and is available for use by all Departments and Agencies of the Department of Defense. 1. SCOPE 1
2、.1 This specification covers alternating current (a.c.), power-sensing relays (see 6.4.1) using electraaagnetic devices or solid state circuitry, or a combination of both, for we on Naval ships (sea 6.1). 2. 12、REQUIREMENTS 3.1 Sample for first article ins ection. Prior to beginning production a sample power- sensing relay (hereinafter Zdkay) shall be examined and tested as specified in 4.3 (see 6.3). E-917, except the bragraphs, in addition to the requirements specified herein. (Whenever a requirement of
13、MIL-E-917 conflicts with a requirement of this specification, the requirement of this specification shall govern.) The following requirements of MIL-E-917 are not applicable unless required by the procurement docurttent: 3.2 General re uirements. Relay shall be in accordance with the requirements of
14、 MIL- (a) Piping systems. (b) Equipment cooled by forced air. (c) Equipment cooled by water. 3.2.1 Characteristics. Relay shall have the following characteristics, as specified (see 6.2.1) : (a) Relay shall sense real power from a 3-phaser 3-wire, 60 hertz (Hz) circuit (b) and change contact positio
15、n when preset actuation conditions are met. Power input to the relay shall consist of the voltage output of potential transformers providing 115 volt, 3-phase signal for the relay voltage coils and current signals from two current transformers, one in phase AB and one in phase CA for the current coi
16、ls of the relay or as otherwise specified (see 6.2.1). 6.4.2) with a contact rating of 10 amperes at 450 volts, 60 Kz. The contacts shall be electrically insulated from each other and from the relay input (see 3.2.8). Relay shall operate in an electric power system with characteristics of type I, 60
17、 Hz power as defined by MIL-STD-1399, section 103. Relay shall not be damaged nor shall have false operations caused by transients or other characteristics of a type I power system as defined in MIL-STD-1399, section 103. circuit if a fault occurs. Power level to actuate the relay shall be adjustabl
18、e in 5 percent increments (or lesa) or continuously adjustable between 80 and 150 percent of rated power. Adjustment markings shall be provided to approximate the adjustment setting. Relay shall reset to the normal condition when power to the relay is reduced to 75 + 5 percent of the set trip point.
19、 values shall not vary more than 5 percent of the set value (average of ten operating cycles). Calibration shall be at 40.C ambient temperature. Oper- ating point shall not change more than 3 percent of set value for each 1O.C change in ambient temperature between 10.C and 70.C. the actuating level.
20、 The time delay shall be adjustable from zero (no intentional delay) time delay to 20 second time delay in increments of 1 second or less. (c) Relay shall have two normally open and two normally closed contacts (see (d) Manentary short circuit power may be applied to the relay sensing (e) The trip a

The current interrupting portion of the relay (contacts) shall have a minimum life of 25
