2、encies of the Department of Defense. 1. SCOPE 1.1 Scope. This specification covers solid state, air cooled frequency changers for the conversion of electrical power from 60 hertz (Hz), 3-phase, to 400 Hz, 3-phase, for non-nuclear power naval surface ship use. 2. 15、article. When Specified (see 6.2.1), a sample shall be subjected to first article inspection (see 4.4 and 6.3). 3.2 Performance. 3.2.1 Input power. The input to the equipment (see 6.4.1) shall be 440 volts (V), 60 Hz, 3-phase, 3-wire, ungrounded, type I power complying with the characteristics and r
16、anges as specified in DOD-STD-1399, section 300. Equip- ment shall not be damaged when the input voltage phase rotation is in a reverse order (AC-CB-BA). 3.2.1.1 Self-protection from input voltage variation and transient. When the equipment is supplying any load from no-load to rated-load, the equip
17、ment shall withstand, without damage or blowing of fuses, any input voltage or fre- quency variation or both outside the transient limits specified in DOD-STD-1399, section 300. limits, they may take any of the following conditions: When the input voltage and frequency exceed the input transient The
18、 input voltage instantly drops to zero. The input voltage drops between O and 82 percent of nominal and input: frequency drops between O and 92 percent of nominal. The voltage-frequency relation during the period shall be such that voltage will be maintained at nominal until the frequency drops down
19、 to about 83 percent of nominal, then the voltage drops in proportion to the frequency at a frequency less than 83 percent, and finally the input voltage collapses to zero at a frequency about 35 percent. (c) The input voltage rises to 150 percent of nominal or input fre- quency rises to 125 percent
20、 of nominal, or both. Upon return of the input voltage and frequency to the specified range (see 3,2.1), the equipment shall operate and supply the load with the same output voltage and frequency as that prior to the input power changes. of the equipment shall meet all requirements of this specifica
