1、MILITARY SPECIFICATION BATTERY MARK 4-6 MOD 1 PRIMARY W3, SILVE;R-ZINC-ALKAI;I This amendment forms a part of Military Specification MIL-B-23394B(OS) of 6 June i966 and has been approved by the Naval Ordnance Systems Command, Department of the Navy By this change, basic specification MIL-B-23394B(lP
2、) is change8 to MIL-B-2339h-B( OS) Wherever it appears in specification delete “BUWEPS“ and sbstitute “NAVORD“ . Page 1, paragraph 2.1, under MILITARY: Delete “MIL-w-“ and its title and sbstitute “MIL-C-915 Cable, Electrical, Special Purpose, General Specification for“. Page 4, paragrzph 3.2.3.2: De
3、lete “shall conform to Specification BEL- w-76 or Specification 1-i6878“ and substitute “shall conform to MIL- C-915, me TRXF-105, or to 1-16878.“ Page 4, paragraph 3.2.6.1, following “(f) SERIAZ “MBER“. Add: “(g) NAVAL OFDNANCE SY,YtEMS COMMAND or NAVORDSYSCOM. LIFE ITEM l. A five yeas expiration d
4、ate, from manu- facturing date, to be filled in the blank by the vendor. .“(h) TYPE 1 - SHEW Page 7, paragraph 3.4.3. “3.4.3 Delete and substitute: Active material. The total silver content of al1 the active material, such as argentic oxide, argentous oxide, and powdered silver,. in all cathodes of
5、the propulsion and auxiliary cells shall be 560 +3$ -O$ troy ounces cf silver. The total silver content of the structural components in the entire battery, such as anode and cathode grids, plate straps, terminals, and intercell connectors, shall be i40 +3$ -O$ troy ounces of silver. The minimum tota
6、l silver requirement for active ma- terial, 5O troy ounces, and for structural components, i40 troy ounces, shall be met independently. Any proposed excess in either of these re- quirmerits shall not be permitted to reduce the minimum requirements of the other. Only silver shall be used for structur
7、al material within the envelope of the battery cells.
