2、t of the Navy, and is available for use by all Departments and Agencies of the Department of Defense. 1. SCOPE 1.1 Scope. This specification covers one type of solid propellant booster designated as MK 12 MOD 1. 2. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS 2.1 Issues of documents. on date of invitation for Lids or reque

The purpose of the first article is to ascertain that the contractor is capable of producing rocket motors which meet this specifica
13、tion, prior to starting production. * 3.1.2 First article inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the contract (see 6.2), each contractor shall submit a first article of 15 full-scale loaded rocket motors to the procuring activity, These units shall be manufactured ushg materials, processes, and e
14、quipment proposed for production. are acceptable, the contractor shall receive written approval of the first article from the procuring activity prior to starting production. Further manufacture of the rocket motor prior to the approval of the first article by the procuring activity shall be at the
15、contractors risk. When the results of the first article (see 4.4) * 3.1.3 Change of material, material vendors, processes, or equipment. Materials, material vendors, processes, and equipment shall not be changed after acceptance of the first article without prior written approval of the procuring ac
16、tivity. A first article may be required by the procuring activity when supplier undertakes a new contract, purchase order, a new material vendor, or requisition to produce similar material under this specification, or if production has been interrupted. The basis for such a requirement is a change i
17、n equipment, personnel, procedures, material vendors, or other changes which, in the opinion of the procuring activity, may adversely affect the end product. contractor shall be responsible for informing the procuring activity of proposed changes. Any production or resumption of the production prior
18、 to the written approval of the new first article by the procuring activity shall be at the contractors risk. 19、uided Missile, Mark 12 MOD 1 shall conform to the requirements of this specification and the requirements specified in the drawings, specifications, and other-documents listed in LD 487648 and LD 487651. conform to WS 12802. The casting solvent for the propellant shall 3.3 Data. No dataarerequired b
20、y this specification or by applicable documents referenced in Section 2, unless specified in the contract (see 6.2). 3.4 Ballistic performance. The rocket motor ballistic performance shall conform to Drawing 1636673. 3.5 2-Nitrodiphenylamine content. The 2-nitrodiphenylamine (2-hPA) content of each
21、propellant formulation in the grain shall conform to Drawing 1636673. 3.6 Stability and physical properties (propellant). The stability and physical properties of each propellant formulation in the grain shall Conform to Drawing 1636673. * 3.7 Environmental. The rocket motor shall meet the requireme
22、nts specified herein during and after exposure to the environmental conditions specified in 4.7.1 through 4.7.4. * 3.8 Serialization. The serial number and identifying contractor letter metal stamped on the inert booster is a pre-assigned (see 6.2) and controlled number and shall be retained on the
23、loaded booster. 3.9 Workmanship. The boosters shall be uniform in quality and shall be free of chips, dirt, corrosion, burrs, sharp edges, or any other defects that would prevent their use for the purpose intended. 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise s
24、pecified in the contract, the contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspec- tion requirements as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified in the contract, the contractor may utilize his own or any other facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection requirements spec
