STDoITU-T RECMN JOL32-ENGL L998 m 4862591 Ob53737 2T3 m ITU-T RECOMMENDATION 5.132 TRANSPORT OF MPEG-2 SIGNALS IN SDH NETWORKS Summary This Recommendation provides the requirements for an equipment called “SDH network adapter“ for the transport of MPEG-2 signals over SDH networks. It describes
7、 the necessary operations to adapt the MPEG-2 transport streams into a STM-1 or sub-STM-1 fiame and the functional characteristics associated to this equipment. The ITU Telecommunication Standardization Sector (ITU-
9、T) is a permanent organ of the ITU. The ITU-T is responsible for studying technical, operating and tariff questions and issuing Recommendations on them with a view to standardizing telecommunications on a worldwide basis. The World Telecommunication Standardization Conference (WTSC), which meets eve
10、ry four years, establishes the topics for study by the ITU-T Study Groups which, in their turn, produce Recommendations on these topics. The approval of Recommendations by the Members of the ITU-T is covered by the procedure laid down in WTSC Resolution No. l. In some areas of information technology
11、 which fall within ITU-Ts purview, the necessary standards are prepared on a collaborative basis with IS0 and IEC. NOTE In this Recommendation, the expression “Administration“ is used for conciseness to indicate both a telecommunication administration and a recognized operating agency. INTELLECTUAL
