SCOPE The materials defin

3、ed by these specifications are EPDM rubber extrusions with either a co-extruded, low friction, thermoplastic polyolefin sliding- coat (WSD-M96D21-A1) or adhesively bonded, short fiber flock (WSD-M96D21-A2) applied to surfaces as shown on the engineering drawing. The weatherstrips may contain an inte

4、rnal metal carrier. 2. APPLICATION These specifications were released originally for materials to be used as door belt seal weatherstrips. In addition to the following requirements all parts made from these materials must conform to requirements of WSD-M9P8-A. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREMEN

5、TS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.3 DYNAMIC MECHANICAL ANALYSIS (ASTM D 4065) Ford Motor Company, at its option, may establish a shear modulus/ damping vs. temperature curv

6、es plotted for -50 to +150 C temperature range for material/parts supplied to this specification. The shear modulus and damping curves established for initial approval shall constitute the reference standard and shall be kept on file at the designated material laboratory. All samples shall produce s

7、hear modulus and damping curves that correspond to the reference standard when tested under the same conditions. 8、ation of Test Specimens Whenever possible, all test specimens shall be die-cut from the finished parts. When not feasible, specimens cut from molded test sheets manufactured from the same material and with equivalent cure to molded parts are recommended. The test sheets shall have the following dime

13、pe capable of meeting the requirements specified in the relevant Engineering Specification or on the engineering drawing. 3.6.2 Adhesion of Sliding-coat to Rubber The sliding-coat shall not be capable of being peeled from the rubber without cohesive tearing of the rubber or TPO. 3.7 MATERIAL TESTING

14、 - FLOCK (WSD-M96D21-A2 only) 3.7.1 Composition The flock shall consist of a suitable short fiber thermoplastic material of a type capable of meeting the requirements specified in the relevant Engineering Specification or on the engineering drawing. 3.7.2 Adhesion of Flock-coat to Rubber Test method

15、 to be agreed between the relevant Ford Materials Engineering department and the vendor. (See 5.1) Adhesion shall be tested on the original material and after the Weathering Tests 3.8.1 of WSD-M9P8-A. 3.8 MATERIAL TESTING - METAL CARRIER The metal carrier shall be as specified on the engineering dra
