2、IDENTIFICATION OF WRS-M99P42-A2 RECYCLED CONTENT 1. SCOPE The material defined by this specification is a textile based on recycled yarns of post industrial (PIR) or post consumer (PCR) origin. 2. APPLICATION This specification provides direction to the suppliers of components containing recycled ya

3、rns, and to the supplier of the recycled yarn. Recycled yarns can be used to make materials for seating fabric, floor carpet, floor mats, package trays substrate or face material etc. Vinyl backing/ reinforcement fabrics are included. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIAL

4、S Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements for Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.2 MATERIAL IDENTIFICATION RECYCLED CONTENT: Recycled content is the portion of a materials or products weight that is composed of materials that have been recovered

5、 from or otherwise diverted from the scrap stream, either from the manufacturing process (PIR) or after consumer use (PCR). Recycled content can be either PIR or PCR. 3.2.1 Post Industrial Recycled content (PIR) Scrap which is a by-product of the yarn or textile manufacturing process and is re-used

6、in the manufacture of yarn. This excludes the out of specification chips, which do not undergo significant reprocessing before they can be used. Examples include pre-consumer polyester fiber waste. Due to the variety of potential feed streams, each material should be reviewed by Material Engineering

7、 to determine if it can be classified at PIR. 3.2.2 Post Consumer Recycled content (PCR) Scrap generated by consumers which has been re-used in the manufacturing of yarn. The feedstock materials for yarns production can be obtained either by a mechanical or chemical recycling process. Examples inclu

8、de water and carbonated drink bottles, and polyester films NOTE: Out of specification chips are not to be classified as recycled content. These are virgin yarns that did not meet the specification they were produced to; nevertheless they would never be disposed of in landfill and are generally sold to industries with less stringent requirements.
