APPLICATIONThis specification was released originally for a material used to bond the magnet to the housingand yoke bar of heater motors.3. REQUIREMENTS3.0

3、STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.1 COLOR Amber 3.2 VISCOSITY at 190 C 2,000 4,000 cP (mPas) (Brookfield Thermocal RVT Spindle #27) 3.3 SOLIDS, min 97% (

4、ASTM D 2046, except heat at 177 C for 4 days, save sample for next test) 3.4 ASH, max 1% (Based on weight of solids) Test Method: Place crucible containing the solids residue in a cool muffle furnace. 6、est Method: 1 in (25 mm) overlap - Polyester (ESF-M3D121) and LC steel with light phosphate coating: Apply sufficient material at the proper application temperature 177 C to a section of the above substrates to provide a bond area of 1 sq in (6.5 cm2) by approximately 0.090 in (2.29 mm) thickness. 7、ith hand pressure apply 1 sq in (6.5 cm2) of a 1 x 3 (25 x 75 mm) section of the above substrates to the adhesive surface and allow the composite to cool to room temperature (30 minutes minimum). Pull the bonded assembly in a tensile machine with a jaw separation rate of 1 in (25 mm)/min (See Fig I)

8、. 3.7 ODOR The adhesive shall be free from objectionable or irritating odors, both as received and at application temperatures. 3.8 QUALITY The adhesive shall be a smooth homogeneous mixture, free from foreign material and properties detrimental to normal production operations. 3.9 TOXICITY The mate

9、rial shall be non-toxic and shall not cause skin rash or irritation (dermatitis) to exposed handlers in normal production operations. 3.10 HEAT STABILITY at 177 C, max 8,000 cP (mPas) (Brookfield Model HBT, Spindle #5, 10 rpm with no skin or gel formation) Test Method: Place a 1/2 pt (0.24 1) sample

10、 of the material in an open metal can and place in a mechanical convection oven for 150 h at 177 +/- 3 C and examine for a skin or gel formation. GENERAL INFORMATION The information given below is provided for clarification and assistance in meeting the requirements of this specification. 5.1 WEIGHT PER VOLUME 6.8 - 7.8 lb/gal (ASTM D 816) (0.81 - 0.93 kg/l) The weight tolerance for any one supplier shall

12、be +/- 0.2 lb/gal (+/- 0.024 kg/l) based on the recorded weight of his original approved production sample. 5.2 DEGRADATION POINT The adhesive may be used at 171 - 190 C for short periods of time (100 h maximum). The material must not be used under any circumstances when the temperature exceeds 190

13、C, since decomposition occurs, with permanent degradation of physical and adhesive properties. 5.3 STORAGE LIFE Indefinite when stored between 0 C and 49 C 5.4 APPLICATION TEMPERATURES The hot melt adhesive shall function at the specified application temperature range for acceptable production application.
