The use of long “Tee Slot Bolts” to “sandwich” risers between the die proper and thepress slide is not recommended and shou

7、urer.Press slides which will receive multiple die stations shall have two press safety blocksper station to a maximum of six blocks.An adequate even number of press safety blocks of the required length (stroke +4.5 inches)shall be provided per Ford Manufacturing Standard DR8X. Where slide safety loc

8、ks arespecified and furnished and the Manufacturer of the press provides a document certifyingthey meet or exceed the 4:1 safety factor required by DR8X, the slide safety lockseliminate the requirement for use of safety blocks. However, the provided safety blocksmay be used by those employees who in

9、sist on their use because of the long standingpractice of only working between dies where safety blocks are in place.
