2、deral agencies. 1. SCOPE 1.1 ScoDe. This commercial item description covers cotton seine twine intended for general purpose usage. 2. CLASSIFICATION 2.1 Classification. The twine shall be of the size specified (see Table I and 7.3) . 3. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS 3.1 Material and construction. The twin

3、e shall be fabricated from 100 percent natural color cotton yarns or cotton/polyester blended yarns of suitable staple and grade to meet the requirements of this commercial item description, and shall have the physical properties in Table I. When cotton/polyester blended yarns are used, the polyeste

4、r content shall be not less than 50 percent and not more than 65 percent. The twine shall be of 3-strand twisted construction (cable lay), “Z“ twist, with each strand composed of yarns twisted in the opposite direction. 7、g permitted without license from IHS-,-,-A-A-2917 3.2 Put-up. The twine shall be put-up on a nominal weight (+ 5 percent) basis as either 1 pound (0.453kg) balls or coreless tubes, as specified. Each ball or coreless tube of twine shall be continuous throughout with no loose ends. The twine shall be

8、 wound so that each turn and layer are free from entanglement. Each ball or coreless tube shall not contain more than one knot per 1/2 pound (0.226kg) of twine. 3.3 Breakins Strensth. The twine breaking strength requirement shall be determined by FED-STD-191, Test Method 6016 (see Table 1). 3.4 Work

9、manshb. The twine shall have no defect that affects appearance or serviceability. 3.5 Measurement svstem. The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regarded as the standard. The metric values stated in parentheses are for information purposes only. 3.6 Metric Droducts. Products manufactured to

10、 metric dimensions will be considered on an equal basis with those manufactured using inch-pound units, providing they fall within the tolerances specified and all other requirements of this document are met. If a product is manufactured to metric dimensions and those dimensions exceed the tolerance

11、s specified in the inch-pound units, a request should be made to the contracting officer to determine if the product is acceptable. 3.7 Commercial item. The use of the term Ilcommercial item“ in this document does not imply that any item or items offered are not required to conform with all requirem

12、ents specified herein. 4. REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS. 4.1 Resulatow remirements. The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered materials to the maximum extent practicable, in accordance with paragraph 23.403 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR). 5. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 5.1 Contra

13、ctor Certification. The contractor shall certify and maintain substantiating evidence that the product offered meets the salient characteristics of this Commercial Item Description, and that the product conforms to the producers own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practice

14、s, and is the same product offered for sale in the commercial marketplace. The government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract. 6. PACKAGING 6.1 Packasinq. Preservation, pa

NOTES 7.1 Part Identification Number (PIN). Twine conforming to this commercia

16、l item description shall be identified by a part number configuration consisting of identification of a portion of the CID number and size. An example of the part number configuration is shown below. This part numbering system is intended for identification and cross-indexing of the item within the
