It takes account of AmendmentNo.1,1972(AMD 1064) and of Amendment No

11、.2,1973 (AMD 1218). It is being published in a number of separate Sections, as follows. Part 1: Requirements for systems with audible signalling only; Section 1.1: Installation; Section 1.2: Maintenance and records; Part 2: Requirements for systems with remote signalling; Section 2.1: Installation;

12、Section 2.2: Maintenance and records; Part 3: Requirements for detection devices, consisting of a number of separate Sections (3.1 to 3.14). 15、1 Scope This British Standard specifies the general requirements for pressure mats to be used in intruder alarm systems in buildings. 2 References The titles of the standards publications referred to in this standard are listed on the inside back cover. 3 Definitions For the purposes of this British

16、 Standard, the following definitions apply in addition to those given in BS4737-1.1 and/or BS4737-2.1. 3.1 pressure mat a detection device, in the form of a mat, designed to generate an alarm condition when the weight of a person is placed upon it 3.2 operational area the portion of the pressure mat

17、 on any part of which a force of not less than 100N applied normal to its surface by means of a solid circular test disc of diameter 605mm produces an alarm condition 4 Area requirement The manufacturer shall state the dimensions of the operational area of the pressure mat. 5 Construction The outer

18、surfaces of the pressure mat shall be made of a material which offers flexibility and resistance to abrasion at least equivalent to plasticized PVC sheet 0.3mm thick. The construction of the detector shall be such that the mat returns readily to its normal state after the removal of a force generati

19、ng an alarm condition. Provision shall be made for fixings to prevent movement after installation. 6 Circuit configuration The detector shall be a closed-circuit device, or an open-circuit device in which each internal conductor is monitored as part of a double-pole closed-circuit, or an open-circui

20、t device with a single conductor closed-circuit monitoring loop within its enclosure. NOTEFor details of the connection to detection circuits, see4.1.1 of BS4737-2.1:1977. 7 Operating pressure An alarm condition shall be generated by any force of not less than 100N applied normal to the surface of t

21、he pressure mat by means of a solid circular test disc of diameter 605mm, and shall not be generated by any force less than 20N applied by the same means. 8 Environment The requirements of this British Standard shall be met by the detector under any combination of the following environmental conditi

22、ons. The detector shall be sealed such that it continues to function in accordance with the requirements of this specification during and after being totally immersed under not less than 100mm of water for a period of 24h.
