Scope1.1 This specification covers requirements for treestands,climbing sticks, and tripod/tower stands that are used forhunting, photog
3、raphing, or general observation. Furthermore,this specification establishes minimum warning and packagelabeling, instructional content, safety device requirements, andphysical testing parameters. This is a performance basedspecification and is not intended to restrict design.1.2 Partial utilization
4、of this specification is prohibited. Anystatement of compliance with this specification shall be acertification that the product tested meets all of the require-ments of the specification in its entirety. A product that fails tomeet any one of the requirements of this specification isconsidered to h
5、ave failed this specification and shall not be soldwith any indication that it meets parts of the specification.1.3 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regardedas standard. Terminology3.1 Definitions:3.1.1 backbar, nadjustable component of a climbing tree-stand that engages the tree to provide s

The backbarmay be rigid or flexible.3.1.2 climbing belt, na strap/belt or similar device whichis fastened about the person in a manner so as to contain thetorso and stabilize the users horizontal load while eitherworking from a vertical position to attach treestands, climbingdevices, and so
11、forth, or during ascent/descent of tree or ladder.A FBH may be constructed to additionally serve this function.3.1.3 corner stability, nthe ability of a treestand to resisteccentricity, twisting, or sudden movement when load isapplied separately to each of the four corners of a footplatform.3.1.4 fa
12、ll arrest system, nsystem that is assembled for thepurpose of arresting an accidental fall of its user. A FASconsists of a full body harness, lanyard, anchorage means,connecting hardware, climbing belt (for fixed position stands),and suspension relief device.3.1.5 foot platform, nhorizontal structur
13、al area of a tree-stand on which the user stands and/or places his feet.3.1.6 full body harness (FBH), ncomponent with a designof straps that is fastened about the person in a manner so as tocontain the torso and distribute the fall arrest forces over atleast the upper thighs, pelvis, chest, and sho

In terms of tripod and tower standsthe ability to resist toppling when the center edge sp
20、anningeach of the supports is loaded.3.1.11 single user rated capacity (SUR), nthe maximumload capacity, not to be exceeded, of a treestand, climbingstick, tripod, or tower stand as determined by the manufacturerfor a single user.3.1.12 suspension relief device, ndevice to allow relief ofa persons w
21、eight on the lower extremities if suspended in aharness or allow the user to descend to the ground. The deviceis to help maintain circulation in the legs and help preventsuspension trauma (blood pooling).3.1.13 treestand, ndevice designed to be affixed to a treeso as to permit an individual to sit o
22、r stand thereon for thepurpose of attaining an elevated position from which toobserve, photograph or hunt.3.1.14 user, nthe consumer or end user of the manufac-tured product.4. Classification4.1 Ladder treestandA treestand that is secured to the treeat the elevation where the platform is located. Th
23、e laddertreestand has steps that are used to reach the platform orhunting position. The ladder or steps is an integral part of theproduct.4.2 Non-climbing, fixed position or hang-on treestandAtreestand that is secured to the tree at the elevation where it isused. (The user usually ascends the tree b
24、y some means andthen lifts the treestand to the desired position and secures it foruse.)4.3 Climbing stick continuousA device or aide to assistclimbing a tree primarily to a fixed position treestand. Acontinuous interconnected ladder that is secured to the tree andallows the user to support his weig
