Scope1.1 This practice covers the documentation of instrumentalmeasurement of color or color difference
3、 for current commu-nication or for future reference. The practice is applicable toinstrumental measurements of materials where color is seen byreflected, transmitted or emitted light and any combinations ofone or more of these processes. The practice is recommendedfor documentation of methodology in
4、 interlaboratory color-measurement programs.1.2 An adequate identification of an instrumental measureof color or color-difference consists of five parts:1.2.1 Nature and source of available samples and the formof specimens actually measured,1.2.2 Instrumental conditions of measurement, includinginst
5、rument geometrical and spectral conditions of measure-ment,1.2.3 Standards used,1.2.4 Data acquisition procedure, and1.2.5 Color scales employed.1.3 This standard does not purport to address all of thesafety concerns, if any, associated with its use. 17、 methods for the measurementof color or color-difference are many. These involve choices in:(1) specimens, (2) geometric and spectral properties of instru-ments, (3) calibration bases for standards used, (4) procedurefor sample handling including conditioning, (5) procedure fortaking data, and (6) e
18、quations for converting instrumental datato final results. Once the measurements have been made, it isessential to document what has been done for the purpose ofinterlaboratory comparisons, or for future use.
