10、l Duties and Responsibilities of a NuclearCoatings Specialist5.1 The duties of a Nuclear Coatings Specialist should bedetailed in the facility safety-related coatings program andtypically may include, but are not limited to:5.1.1 Developing and managing the safety-related coatingsprogram,5.1.2 Devel

18、 plant-specific, safety-related systems design bases,5.1.12 Preparing or assisting in the preparation of trainingmanuals and examinations required in conjunction with thefacilitys or organizations applicator certification program,presenting training sessions, and grading any exams,5.1.13 Preparing a

19、nd presenting training (to the extentrequired) in conjunction with the certification process forpersonnel performing safety-related coatings inspection. Thismay entail assisting the facility or organization QA/QC or thetraining organizations, or both,5.1.14 Evaluating candidate applicators proficien

20、cy, and5.1.15 Evaluating coating failures and non-conforming con-ditions in accordance with the facilitys or organizationsapproved Quality Assurance Program.6. Education, Training and Experience Qualifications6.1 Each nuclear facility or organization should developspecific qualification criteria for

21、 qualification of Nuclear Coat-ings Specialists. The criteria ultimately developed and includedin each facilitys or organizations safety-related coatingsprogram must be a combination of attributes including educa-tion, professional achievement, nuclear coatings experienceand ongoing participation in

22、 nuclear coatings technology. Thequalification criteria should be definitive with respect to theextent and currency of the Nuclear Coating Specialists expe-rience and training. Table 1 provides a list of typical qualifi-cation attributes for a Nuclear Coatings Specialist.6.2 Table 2 is a matrix whic

Maintenance of Qualification7.1 Nuclear Coatings Specialists should demonstrate sig-nificant, continuing involvement in the nuclear coatings ind

Such involvement is demonstrated through continuingeducation and professional work experience.7.2 At the end of each 4-year interval after designation of anindividual as a Nuclear Coatings Specialist, the individualshould submit any two of the following types of informationfor review and fil

33、ing by the individuals supervisor:7.2.1 Evidence demonstrating substantial and continuingon-the-job involvement on the job as a Nuclear CoatingsSpecialist,7.2.2 References from either a supervisor or peer thatdocument that the individual has performed the duties of aNuclear Coating Specialist satisf

34、actorily, or,7.2.3 Evidence of having attended coatings training coursesor symposia, actively participated in coatings technical societywork related to nuclear safety-related coatings, or publishedtechnical papers and/or articles related to nuclear safety-relatedcoatings.8. Records8.1 A personnel qu

35、alification record file should be estab-lished and maintained by each nuclear facility or organizationto document the education, training and experience of NuclearCoatings Specialists. Collection, storage and control of recordsrequired by this guide shall be in accordance with the require-ments of t
