3、ed-thermosetting-resin flanges for use in pipesystems and tank nozzles. Included are requirements formaterials, workmanship, performance, and dimensions.1.2 Flanges (see Fig. 1) may be produced as integral flanges,Type A, or flange-on-pipe, Type B.1.3 This specification is based on flange performanc

17、ation4.1 GeneralThis specification covers reinforced-thermosetting-resin flanges defined by type (method of manu-facture), grade (generic type of resin), class (pressure endthrust capability), and pressure rating. Flanges complying withthis specification are also given numerical classifications rela

21、Pressure RatingPressure rating shall be categorizedby single-letter designation. Pressure designations are shown inTable 1.4.1.5 Short-term rupture pressure and sealing-test pressurelimits shall be categorized by single arabic number designa-tions as indicated by the cell classification system of Ta
22、ble 2.4.2 Designation CodeThe flange-designation code shallconsist of the abbreviation for contact molded (CM) followedby the type as a capital letter, grade as an Arabic numeral, classas a Roman numeral, and the pressure-rating category as acapital letter and two Arabic numbers identifying the cell
23、-classification designations of the short-term rupture pressureand sealing-test pressure, respectively. Thus, a completeflange-designation code shall consist of three letters, oneArabic numeral, one Roman numeral, one letter and twonumerals.4.2.1 ExampleContact molded fiberglass is CM-AlID-46.This d
24、esignation described a stub flange, made using glass-fiber-reinforced epoxy resin for full-axial pressure thrust. Theflange has a 100-psi (0.69-MPa) pressure rating, a short-termrupture pressure of 400-psi (2.76-MPa), and a sealing-testpressure of 225-psi (1. 55-MPa).4.3 Attachment of Flanges to Pip
