Materials and Manufacture4.1 Asphalt-based, aluminum roof coatings shall consist ofan asphalt base, volatile petroleum solvents, and a leafing typeof aluminum pigment conforming to the requirements ofSpecification D 962, with or without fiber added. They shall bemixed to a smooth, un

8、iform consistency suitable for applica-tion by brush, roller, or by spraying.5. Physical Requirements Physical Requirements6.1 UniformityAfter a thoroughly stirred sample hasstood for 72 h at room temperature 23 6 2C (73.4 6 F) in aclosed container, it shall show no separation of solvent orsettling that can no

10、t be overcome by moderate stirring.6.2 ConsistencyThe roof coating shall be of a consistencythat will spread readily and permit application by brush, roller,or spray to produce a film in which the aluminum pigment leafsto form a bright reflective surface on prepared roofing, satu-rated felt, and met

11、al surfaces at ambient temperatures above10C (50F).6.2.1 Type IConsistency at 25C (77F) shall be between20 and 30 Stormer s/100 revolutions of the paddle-type rotorwith a 100-g load in addition to the standardizing load.6.2.2 Type II and Type IIIConsistency at 25C (77F)shall be between 15 and 90 Sto

17、scribed in this specification may constitute grounds for rejec-tion. In the case of rejection, the seller shall have the right toreinspect the rejected material and resubmit the lot afterremoval of those packages not conforming to the requirements.11. Packaging and Package Marking11.1 All products s

18、hall be packaged and labeled in accor-dance with applicable regulations. Each package shall bemarked to indicate the applicable ASTM International specifi-cation.
