Scope1.1 This specification cover

3、s the quality and grading ofcrushed stone, crushed slag, and water-worn gravel suitable foruse as coarse mineral aggregate on built-up roofs.1.2 The values stated in either SI units or inch-pound unitsare to be regarded separately as standard. The values stated ineach system may not be exact equival

4、ents; therefore, eachsystem shall be used independently of the other. Combiningvalues from the two systems may result in non-conformancewith the standard.1.3 This international standard was developed in accor-dance with internationally recognized principles on standard-ization established in the Dec

8、avelThe crushed stone andgravel at the time of application shall be hard, durable, opaque,and free of clay, loam, sand, or other foreign substances.3.2 Crushed SlagCrushed slag shall be hard, air-cooled,blast-furnace slag, or electric furnace phosphate slag that isfree of sand, clay, or other foreig

Requirements4.1 The aggregate shall conform to the gradation require-ments specified in Table 1.4.2 The aggregate shall conform to the physical propertiesspecified in Table 2.4.3 Suggested Field Checks:4.3.1 Aggregate shall be free of ice and snow.4.3.2 A ha

10、ndful of aggregate shall not drip water.4.3.3 The aggregate shall be dry and clean enough to adhereto the hot bitumen flood coat when installed.5. Inspection7.1 Inspection of the material shall be as agreed uponbetween the p

16、urchaser and the supplier.8. Rejection and Rehearing8.1 Failure to conform to any of the requirements prescribedin this specification shall constitute grounds for rejection. Incase of rejection, the seller shall have the right to re-inspect therejected material and resubmit the lot after removal of

17、thoseitems not conforming to the requirements. The buyer will thenhave the option to inspect the reworked lot for compliance tospecification.9.
