3、This specification covers the composition, dimensions, and physical properties of compression-resistant, perpendicu-larly oriented mineral fiber (rock, slag, or glass) roll and sheetinsulation intended for use on flat, curved, or round surfaces upto 1000F (538C). This product (pipe and tank insulatio
4、n) istypically used on nominal 24 in. (610 mm) or greater diametersurfaces. For specific applications, the actual use temperaturesand diameters shall be agreed upon between the manufacturerand the purchaser.1.2 The orientation of the fibers within the roll or sheetinsulation is essentially perpendic
5、ular to the heated/cooledsurface (parallel to heat flow). This specification does not applyto flat block, board, duct wrap, or preformed pipe mineral fiberinsulation where the insulation fiber orientation is generallyparallel to the heated/cooled surface (across the heat flow).1.3 For satisfactory p
