Scope1.1 This specification covers the types an
3、d physical proper-ties of spray applied rigid cellular polyurethane intended foruse as thermal insulation. The operating temperatures of thesurfaces to which the insulation is applied shall not be lowerthan 22F (30C) or greater than +225F (+107C). Forspecific applications, the actual temperature lim
4、its shall be asagreed upon between the manufacturer and the purchaser.1.2 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regardedas the standard. 15、rials and Manufacture6.1 Spray-applied rigid-cellular polyurethane thermal insu-lation is produced by the catalyzed chemical reaction ofpolyisocyanates with polyhydroxyl compounds, with the addi-tion of other compounds such as stabilizers and blowingagents.6.2 Spray-applied rigid-cellular polyuretha
16、ne thermal insu-lation is produced by the catalyzed polymerization of polyiso-cyanates, usually in the presence of polyhydroxyl compounds,with the addition of other compounds such as stabilizers andblowing agents.6.3 The materials shall be capable of being mixed andapplied using commercial polyureth
17、ane spray equipment.NOTE 1The thermal insulation shall be formed directly on the surfaceto be sprayed, unless agreed upon by the purchaser and the manufacturer.7. Physical Requirements7.1 Polyurethane thermal insulation shall have the limitingproperty values as shown in Table 1.7.2 Other physical pr
18、operties shall be required, as agreedupon by the purchaser and the manufacturerNOTE 2Density is not a requirement of this specification, but if agreedupon by the purchaser and the manufacturer shall be determined inaccordance with Test Method D 1622 for point-of-manufacture qualitycontrol.8. Samplin
19、g8.1 LotFor purposes of sampling, the lot shall consist ofall the polyurethane liquid components purchased at one time.8.2 Unit SampleThe unit sample shall consist of approxi-mately 50 lb (23 kg) of each of the two liquid components asrequired to prepare the foam test specimens specified inSection 9
20、. Samples may be drawn from representative bulkstorage or from one or more shipping containers.8.3 Sampling for qualification tests, if required, shall be inaccordance with statistically sound practice. Qualification testswill be conducted on the physical properties in Table 1.8.4 Sampling for inspe
21、ction tests, if required, shall be forproperties agreed upon between the manufacturer and thepurchaser.9. Test Specimen Preparation9.1 Finished polyurethane foam insulation test panels shallbe made by spray application consistent with the manufactur-ers recommendations including: temperatures of the
22、 liquidcomponents, ambient temperature, temperature and type ofsubstrate, type and operation of spray equipment, and thicknessof foam per pass. Unless otherwise specified and reported, theambient and substrate temperature shall be 75 6 5F (24 63C). The relative humidity must not exceed 80%. The test
23、panels shall be of a sufficient quantity and size to satisfy testrequirements.NOTE 3Specific panel sizes and thicknesses shall be based on therequirements of the individual tests.9.2 The test panels shall be allowed to cure for at least 72 hat 73 6 2F (23 6 1C) and 50 6 5% relative humidity priorto
24、cutting or testing for physical properties.9.3 Core specimens, when required, shall be obtained byremoving both the external skin and the boundary skin found atthe substrate/foam interface.Atrim cut on each face to a depthof18 to14 in. (3 to 6 mm) is generally sufficient. Corespecimens may contain o
