1、Designation: B 85 03Standard Specification forAluminum-Alloy Die Castings1This standard is issued under the fixed designation B 85; the number immediately following the designation indicates the year of originaladoption or, in the case of revision, the year of last revision. A number in parentheses
2、indicates the year of last reapproval. A superscriptepsilon (e) indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.This standard has been approved for use by agencies of the Department of Defense.1. Scope*1.1 This specification covers aluminum-alloy die castings ofall compositions.
3、Thirteen of the most commonly die cast alloycompositions are specified, designated as shown in Table 1.1.2 Alloy and temper designations are in accordance withANSI H35.1. The equivalent unified numbering system alloydesignations are in accordance with Practice E 527.1.3 For acceptance criteria for i
4、nclusion of new aluminumand aluminum alloys and their properties in this specification,see Annex A1 and Annex A2.1.4 UnitsThe values stated in inch-pound units are to beregarded as the standard. The values given in parentheses aremathematical conversions to SI units which are provided forinformation

21、.1 Orders for material under this specification shall includethe following information:4.1.1 This specification designation (which includes thenumber, the year, and the revision letter, if applicable),4.1.2 The quantity in either pieces or pounds (kilograms),4.1.3 Part name and number,4.1.4 Alloy (s
22、ee Section 8 and Table 1), and4.1.5 Drawing of die casting, when required, giving allnecessary dimensions and showing latest revisions and allow-ances for linear dimensions (10.2), parting lines (10.3), movingdie components (10.4), draft (10.5), flatness (10.6), cored holethreads (10.7-10.9), and ma
23、chining stock (10.10). Location ofejector pin marks or parting lines shall be at the option of theproducer; unless specifically designated on the drawing.4.2 Additional tests, options and special inspection require-ments as provided below should be justified only on the basisof need.
