Scope1.1 This specification2covers nickel-molybdenum-chromium-iron alloys (UNS N10003 and UNS N10242)* rodfor us
3、e in general corrosive service.1.2 The following products are covered under this specifi-cation:1.2.1 Rods516 to34 in. (7.94 to 19.05 mm) excl in diameter,hot or cold finished, annealed, and pickled or mechanicallydescaled.1.2.2 Rods34 to 312 in. (19.05 to 88.9 mm) incl in diameter,hot or cold finis
4、hed, annealed, ground, or turned.1.3 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regardedas standard. Terminology3.1 Definitions of Terms Specific to This Standard:3.1.1 rod, na product of rou

Ordering Information4.1 It is the responsibility of the purchaser to specify allrequirements that are necessary for the safe and satisfactoryperformance of material ordered under this specification.Examples of such requirements include but are not lim
9、ited tothe following:4.1.1 DimensionsNominal diameter and length. Theshortest usable multiple length shall be specified (Table 1).4.1.2 CertificationState if certification or a report of testresults is required (Section 15).4.1.3 Purchaser InspectionState which tests or inspec-tions are to be witnes
10、sed (Section 13).4.1.4 Samples for Product (Check) AnalysisState whethersamples shall be furnished (9.2.2).5. Chemical Composition5.1 The material shall conform to the requirements as tochemical composition prescribed in Table 2.5.2 If a product (check) analysis is made by the purchaser,the material
11、 shall conform to the requirements specified inTable 2 subject to the permissible tolerances in SpecificationB880.6. Mechanical Properties and Other Requirements6.1 The mechanical properties of the material at roomtemperature shall conform to those shown in Table 3.1This specification is under the j

Dimensions and Permissible Variations7.1 DiameterThe permissible variations from the speci-fied diameter shall be as prescribed in Table 4.7.2 Out-of-RoundnessThe permissible variation in round-ness shall be as prescribed in Table 4.7.3 Machining AllowancesWhen the surfac
16、es of finishedmaterial are to be machined, the following allowances aresuggested for normal machining operations:7.3.1 As-finished (Annealed and Descaled)For diametersof516 to1116 in. (7.94 to 17.46 mm) incl, an allowance of116in. (1.59 mm) on the diameter should be made for finishmachining.7.4 Leng
17、th:7.4.1 Unless multiple, nominal, or cut lengths are specified,random mill lengths shall be furnished.7.4.2 The permissible variations in length of multiple,nominal, or cut length rod shall be as prescribed in Table 1.Where rods are ordered in multiple lengths,14 in. (6.35 mm)length addition shall
18、be allowed for each uncut multiple length.7.5 Ends:7.5.1 Rods ordered to random or nominal lengths shall befurnished with either cropped or sawed ends.7.5.2 Rods ordered to cut lengths shall be furnished withsquare saw cut or machined ends.7.6 WeightFor calculation of mass or weight, the follow-ing
19、densities shall be used:Alloy lb/in3g/cm3N10003 0.317 8.78N10242 0.327 9.057.7 StraightnessThe maximum curvature (depth of chord)shall not exceed 0.050 in. multiplied by the length of the chordin feet (0.04 mm multiplied by the length in centimetres).8. Workmanship, Finish and Appearance8.1 The mate
20、rial shall be uniform in quality and condition,smooth, and free of injurious imperfections.9. Sampling9.1 Lots for Chemical Analysis and Mechanical Testing:9.1.1 A lot for chemical analysis shall consist of one heat.9.1.2 A lot of bar for mechanical testing shall be defined asthe material from one h
21、eat in the same condition and specifieddiameter.9.2 Sampling for Chemical Analysis:9.2.1 A representative sample shall be obtained from eachheat during pouring or subsequent processing.9.2.2 Product (check) analysis shall be wholly the respon-sibility of the purchaser.9.3 Sampling for Mechanical Tes
