Scope*1.1 This specification2covers aluminum-alloy permanentmold castings designated as shown in Table 1.1.2 This specification is for aluminum-alloy permanentmold castings used in general purpose applications. It may notaddress the mechanical properties, integrity testing, and veri-ficati
4、on required for highly loaded or safety critical applica-tions.1.3 Alloy and temper designations are in accordance withANSI H35.1/H35.1(M).1.4 Unless the order specifies the “M” specificationdesignation, the material shall be furnished to the inch-poundunits.1.5 For acceptance criteria for inclusion
5、 of new aluminumand aluminum alloys and their properties in this specification,see Annex A1 and Annex A2.1.6 UnitsThe values stated in either SI units or inch-pound units are to be regarded separately as standard. Thevalues stated in each system may not be exact equivalents;therefore, each system sh
6、all be used independently of the other.Combining values from the two systems may result in non-conformance with the standard.1.7 This standard does not purport to address all of thesafety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is theresponsibility of the user of this standard to establish app
