Scope*1.1 This specification covers carbon steel sheet piling ofstructural quality for use in the construction of dock walls, seawalls, cofferdams, excavations, and like applications (seeSpecification A 572/A 572M).1.2 When the steel is to be welded, it is presupposed that awelding proced

4、ure suitable for the grade of steel and intendeduse or service will be utilized. See Appendix X3 of Specifica-tion A 6/A 6M for information on weldability.1.3 The values stated in either inch-pound units or SI unitsare to be regarded as standard. Within the text, the SI units areshown in brackets. T

5、he values stated in each system are notexact equivalents; therefore, each system must be used inde-pendently of the other. Combining values from the two systemsmay result in nonconformance with this specification.1.4 For sheet piling produced from coil and furnishedwithout heat treatment or with str

General Requirements for Delivery3.1 Sheet piling furnished under this specification shallconform to the requirements of the current edition of Specifi-cation A 6/A 6M, for the specif

8、ic sheet piling ordered, unless aconflict exists, in which case this specification shall prevail.3.2 Coils are excluded from qualification to this specifica-tion until they are processed into finished sheet piling. Sheetpiling produced from coil means sheet piling that has been cutto individual leng

9、ths from a coil. The processor directlycontrols, or is responsible for, the operations involved in theprocessing of a coil into finished sheet piling. Such operationsinclude decoiling, leveling, hot-forming or cold-forming (ifapplicable), cutting to length, testing, inspection, conditioning,heat tre

10、atment (if applicable), packaging, marking, loading forshipment, and certification.NOTE 1For sheet piling produced from coil and furnished withoutheat treatment or with stress relieving only, two test results are to bereported for each qualifying coil. Additional requirements regarding sheetpiling p

11、roduced from coil are described in Specification A 6/A 6M.4. Process4.1 The steel may be made by any process that producesmaterial meeting the requirements set forth in this specifica-tion.5. Chemical Requirements5.1 The heat analysis shall conform to the requirementsprescribed in Table 1.5.2 The st

12、eel shall conform on product analysis to therequirements prescribed in Table 1, subject to the productanalysis tolerances in Specification A 6/A 6M.6. Mechanical Requirements6.1 The material, as represented by the test specimens,shall conform to the requirements as to tensile propertiesprescribed in

13、 Table 2.6.2 A minimum tensile strength of 60 ksi 415 MPa and aminimum yield point of 36 ksi 250 MPa shall be permittedfor piling sections used in the fabrication of cold-formedconnections.7.
