1、A-A-52028 45 9999974 O063682 T COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION DRAIN, FLOOR, CAST-IRON The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this commercial item description as a replacement for Military Specification MIL-D-3156C. This description covers two sizes of flush-type cast-iron floor d

2、rains with slotted style open grate. Salient characteristics: Design: The drain shall consist of two matching cast-iron parts, the open slotted grate, and the body, secured together with machine screws, designed to receive and convey run-off water or other liquid from building floors to the drainage

3、 system. The body shall be suitable for securing to structure such as wood. Classification: The floor drains shall be of the following types. Type I - 6 inches square with a 2 inch outlet connection size Type II - 9 inches square with a 4 inch outlet connection Part number: The commercial item descr

6、ndard Taper Pipe Threads for general use (NPT). Openings in top grate: Openings may be any geometric shape. Openings shall be sized to exclude debris and accommodate the anticipated traffic , Material: Gray iron castings shall conform to ASTM A 48, class 25. Holes: Four holes for securing the grate

7、to the body shall be provided and shall be countersunk in the grate. Four holes for securing the body to a wood structure shall be provided and shall be countersunk in the body. Countersinking shall be to a depth so that the tops of the screw heads are flush with the top of the grate and the top of

8、the body. Threads in the body shall be in accordance with FED-STD-H28/7. Screws: Four wood screws (No. 10, 1.5 inches long) and four machine screws (Flathead, No. 8, .625 inches long) shall be provided with each drain. All screws shall be brass. Threads shall be in accordance with FED-STD-H28/7. Per

9、formance characteristics: The drain shall withstand an external, concentrated load of 2,000 pounds without breaking, cracking, or deforming. Castings: All castings shall be free of extraneous material such as sand, dirt, pits, sprues, scale, and flux. Fins resulting from line- of-parting of sand mol

10、ds shall be ground or machined flush with adjacent material. Imperfections in castings may be corrected by welding provided no degradation in strength or performance will result. Certification: The contractor shall certify that the product offered meets the salient characteristics of this descriptio

11、n, and that the product conforms to the producers own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices and is the same product offered for sale in the commercial marketplace, The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to first delivery and therea

12、fter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract. Rerzulatory requirements: The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered materials in accordance with Publication 94-480 to the maximum extent practicable. Packaginp and marking: Military packaging shall be specified

13、when shipments are to overseas Department of Defense (DOD) consignees. Commercial packaging may be specified for shipments to DOD consignees within the Continental United States and to non DOD consignees worldwide. When a suppliers normal packaging will satisfy the requirements for military packagin

Multiple handling during transportation and in

15、transit storage. 2. Shock, vibration, and static loading forces during worldwide 3. Uncontrolled warehouse storage for extended periods. 4. Weather exposure during shipment and intransit transfers. 5. Stacking loads during shipment and storage. shipment by all transport modes. Quantities of floor dr

16、ains destined to a single addressee may be unitized into one or more unit loads, except only floor drains of like description shall be contained within the same container. Commercial PackagnE: Each floor drain shall be prepared and packaged in accordance with the suppliers normal method for retail d

17、istribution. Floor drains shipped to a single destinationmay be unitized to permit handling as a single unit. Shipping containers shall comply with Uniform Freight Classification or National Motor Freight Classification rules. Marking for ShiDping and Storage: Unit, intermediate (when provided), and

18、 exterior packs shall be marked with the .item nomenclature, stock or part number, quantity per pack, and contract number as a minimum; additional marking shall be as specified in the contract or order. Exterior packs shall have in addition the complete consignees address. Marking shall be applied i
