Scope*1.1 This specification covers soli

3、d precast segmental con-crete masonry units made from hydraulic cement, water, andsuitable mineral aggregates, with or without the inclusion ofother materials. The units are intended for use in the construc-tion of catch basins and manholes.1.2 The text of this standard referenced notes and footnote

11、und silica, andother constituents shall be previously established as suitable foruse in concrete masonry units and shall conform to applicableASTM standards or shall be shown by test or experience not tobe detrimental to the durability of the concrete masonry unitsor any material customarily used in

12、 masonry construction.5. Physical Requirements5.1 At the time of delivery to the site of the work, the unitsshall conform to the requirements prescribed in Table 1.6. Dimensions and Permissible Variations6.1 The thickness of any unit shall be not less than 5 in. (127mm).1This specification is under

Sampling and Testing7.1 The purchase

17、r or his authorized representative shall beaccorded proper facilities to inspect and sample the units at theplace of manufacture from the lots ready for delivery.7.2 Compressive strength, absorption, density, and dimen-sional tolerances shall be based on tests of concrete masonryunits of any configu

18、ration or dimensions made with the samematerials, concrete mix design, manufacturing process, andcuring method, conducted in accordance with Test MethodsC140 and not more than 12 months prior to delivery.7.3 Except as specified in Section 8, and unless otherwiseagreed, the expense of inspection and

19、testing shall be borne bythe purchaser.8. Visual Inspection8.1 All units shall be sound and free of cracks or otherdefects that interfere with the proper placing of the unit.9. Compliance9.1 If a sample fails to conform to the specifiedrequirements, the manufacturer shall be permitted to removeunits

20、 from the shipment. A new sample shall be selected by thepurchaser from remaining units from the shipment with asimilar configuration and dimension and tested at the expenseof the manufacturer. If the second sample meets the specifiedrequirements, the remaining portion of the shipment repre-sented b

21、y the sample meets the specified requirements. If thesecond sample fails to meet the specified requirements, theremaining portion of the shipment represented by the samplefails to meet the specified requirements.NOTE 1Unless otherwise specified in the purchase order, the cost oftests is typically bo

22、rne as follows: (1) if the results of the tests show thatthe units do not conform to the requirements of this specification, the costis typically borne by the seller; (2) if the results of the tests show that theunits conform to the specification requirements, the cost is typically borneby the purch
