Sodium nitrate shall either be a natural or synthetic product 3.2 Workmanship. conforming to the requirements of table I. nitrate that is in accordance with the requir

QUALITY ASSLIPANCE PROVISIOEJS 4.1 Responsibility -_-.I.- for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the contract o

18、r purchase orcler, the supplier is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements as specified herein. Except as othervise specified. , the supplier may utilize his own facilities or any commercial lahoratorv acceptahle to the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform

19、any of the inspections set forth in the specification where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure that supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements. 4.2 Inspection lot. A lot shall consist of sodium nitrate manufactured in one day with the same raw materials and the same manufa

20、cturinq process. 4.2.1 Knit of prcdscL. A unit of prod.uct shall be one container of sod-ium nitrate. 4.2.2 Sampling for tests. Sampling for tests shall he conducted in accordance with MIL-STD-105, Special Inspection Level S-2. Approximate eqiial portions of sodium nitrate shall be taken from each s

21、arnple container, comnosited, and transferred direct- ly to a clean, thoroughly dried bottle labeled to identify the lot and containers from which it was taken. The bottle shall be immediately ticrhtlv stoprered. The total conposited sample shall be no less than one pound. The comnosited sample shal

22、l be used for tests specified in 4.4. All tests shall he performed in duplicate. If the samples fail to meet the requirements of table I, the lot shall he rejected. Examination ofpreparation for delivery. An examination shall be made to 4.3 determine whether the packaging , packing and marking compl

23、y with the requirements of section 5. Defects shall be scored as specified in table II. Sampling shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-105. The sample unit shall be one container fully prepared for delivery. The lot shall be the number of containers offered for inspection at one time. The inspection l

The sodium nitrate purity shall he determined by the Devarda method or by the Ferrous-Sulfate-Zinc-Soda method specified in the Offi- cial Methods of Analysis issued by the Association

26、 of Official Analytical Chemists, (AOAC) . 4.4.2 Particle size tes&. The samples selecte6 at random as specified in 4.2.2 shall be tested in accordance with Fed. Test Method 536/2101 to determine the size of the sodium nitrate particle. 4.4.3 Moisture content. Transfer a 10 gram (9.) sample of sodiu

27、m nitrate to a previously tared weighing bottle. Heat the bottle and sample in an ove11 for 2 hours at 302t 5F. (150“+ 3OC.). After 2 hours, cover bottle, remove from oven, cool in desiccator and weigh. Calculate the percentage of moisture in the sample as follows: Percent moisture = A - B x 100 W 3

29、very. The packing and marking of the sodium nitrate shall be inspected to deceE-ncofrnance with the applicable requirements of section 5 of this specification. 5. PPEPARliT1OP.J FOR DELIVERY 5.1 Packing. -.- Packing shall be level A, , or C as specified (see 6.2). 5.1.1 Level A. Sodium nitrate shall
