2、 Defense. 1. SCOPE 1.1 ScoDe. This specification covers white and red oak lumber for ship and boat construction, including bending for boat and ship frames or for parts requiring bends of similar severity. 1.2 Classification. White and red oak lumber shall be furnished in the following types, classe
3、s and grades, as specified (see 6.2 and 6.3): Type I - White oak. Type II - Red oak, preservative treated. Class 1 - Planking. Grade A Grade B Class 2 - Shaft logs. Class 3 - Sawn timber. Grade A Grade B Class 4 - Ceiling. Class 5 - Bending. Grade A Grade B Beneficial comments (recommendations-, add

15、nce. Nothing in this document, however, supersedes applicable laws and regulations unless a specific exemption has been obtained. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 Material.
