SCOPE The materials defined by this specification are high strength steels with good forming properties, particularly regarding stretch forming and hole expan
3、sion. The strengthening mechanism is based on solute hardening, arising mainly from the levels of carbon and manganese present. Currently, these steels are only available in hot rolled form. 2. APPLICATION The relatively high tensile strength of these steels give them good fatigue properties. Areas
4、of application would typically be where fatigue loads were encountered, such as chassis components, road wheel rims and discs (spiders), etc. CAUTION: These materials are likely to fail the requirements of the standard Ford Spot Weld Test FLTM BA 013-04 (refer to para 3.6). 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 STAND
5、ARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.2 CHEMICAL COMPOSITION (weight percent) The upper and lower limits of chemical composition shall be established by the suppl
