SCOPE The materials defined by this specification are medium granule size cork with a synthetic rubber binder specifically formulated for inje
3、ction molding. On contact with motor oil, they will exhibit high swell without disintegrating or weeping. 2. APPLICATION This specification was released originally for materials used for oil pan and rocker arm cover gaskets where oil sealing at low flange loading is required. 3. REQUIREMENTS Materia
4、l specification requirements are to be used for initial qualification of materials. All tests and preconditioning shall be conducted in accordance with ASTM F 104, Type 2 materials, unless otherwise specified. Specimens are to be selected from the finished gasket. When it is not feasible to obtain s
5、pecimens from the part, the supplier must obtain written approval from the affected product engineering office to waive the requirement. 3.1 QUALITY SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Quality System Requirements. 3.2 FINISHED PARTS 3.2.1 Original P
