2、 ESE-M8G170-A1. SCOPEThe material defined by this specification is a high density materialconsisting of cellulose fibers and a suitably compounded styrene butadienerubber.2. APPLICATIONThis specification was released originally for material used for upper aircharger gasket where air and wa ter seali
3、ng at moderate flange-pressure andmoderate temperatures is required. This material is not recommended for oiland gasoline sealing applications.3. REQUIREMENTSAll tests shall be conducted in accordance with ASTM F 104 Type 7 materialunless otherwise specified. Test specimens are to be sel ected from

Steel to SteelTest Method : A 16 mm I.D. x 38 mm O.D. test specimen iscl amped between 2 discs of 13.5 mm I.D. x 51 mm O.D. metalplates ( maximum thickness 1.57 mm) backed by 12.7 mm steelplates. A 12.7 mm steel bolt is inserted through
7、 the hole anda n ut put on it. Tighten the bolt to 79 N.m. Heat theassembly to 150 +/- 3 C for 5 h. Remove and all ow to cool toroom temperature. The specimen shall come off the metalplat es without tearing and the metal plates must show noevidence of corrosion. 3.1.9 Compression Set, max 18 %(ASTM
