SCOPE This material specification defines the minimum acceptable performance requirements established by Ford Motor Company which meet or exceed the requirements of API category SG, SG/CD or SG/C

3、E. 2. APPLICATION This specification was released originally for service fill engine oils meeting 1989 Model Vehicle Warranty Requirements. These materials are used for lubrication of spark ignition engines using gasolines and for naturally aspirated compression ignition engines using diesel fuels.

REQUIREMENTS 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.1 PERFORMANCE Shall meet all the requirements of API service categories SG, SG/CD or SG/CE as defin

5、ed in SAE Standard J 183 (latest revision), “Engine Oil Performance and Engine Service Classification“, or in ASTM D 4485, “Standard Performance Specification for Automotive Engine Oils“. All required engine tests shall be conducted in accordance with the most recently approved procedures as describ

6、ed in ASTM Special Technical Publications 315, 509 and applicable ASTM Research Reports and Information Letters. All tests under surveillance by ASTM must be conducted using test equipment monitored by and calibrated to the requirements of the ASTM Test Monitoring Center. 3.2 VISCOSITY GRADE Shall m

13、cation It is the suppliers responsibility to have the technical evidence and documentation certifying that a given formulation (base oil/additive combination) meets all requirements described in this specification. Materials which, in the opinion of Ford Motor Company, constitute a significant depar

14、ture from conventional formulations, whether in base stocks, refining processes or additive packages, must be fleet tested, in addition to the requirements outlined herein. These tests must include the type(s) of service judged to be affected by the difference in formulation technology. The appropriate Ford Motor Company activity should be consulted prior to testing.
