SCOPE. This commercial item d

2、escription (CID) covers hand-held inspection probe lights intended for use in illuminating inaccessible areas with small clearances. 2. CLASSIFICATION. The lights shall be of the following types and sizes. Type is determined by the power source. Size is determined by the reach, which is the distance

3、 from the handle to the light. The type and size to be furnished shall be as specified (see 7.2(b). Type I - Battery powered Type II - Cord connected (120 volts ac, single phase, 60 hertz) Size 1 - 4 inches Size2 - 6inches Size3 - 9inches Size 4 - 12 inches Size 5 - 18 inches Size 6 - 24 inches Size

The lig

6、ht shall produce a forward-directed beam of illumination emanating from the end of an extension arm. The light without batteries shall weigh not more than 2.5 pounds. When specified (see 7.2(c), the light shall have the capability to adjust the beam between broad and pinpoint. The type II light shal

7、l operate fiom a 120-volt ac, single- phase, 60-hertz circuit and shall include 6 feet of 3-conductor SJ-type cord meeting the requirements of Underwriters Laboratory (UL) 62. The plug end of the cord shall meet the requirements of figure 5-15 of National Electrical Manufacturers (NEMA) WD 6. Unless

8、 otherwise specified (see 7.2(d), the type I light shall require not more than two batteries, each not larger than size D. 3.2 Components. The light shall include, as a minimum, the following components: 3.2.1 Handle. The handle shall be not less than 3.5 inches long and shall serve as the battery c

9、ase for the type I light and the power cord inteace for the type II light. When specified (see 7.2(e), the handle shall include a magnet of sufficient strength to affix the light to a fmous surhce. 3.2.2 On-off switch. The on-off switch shall be external to the light and clearly marked. 3.2.3 Extens

10、ion arm. Unless otherwise specified (see 7.2(f), the extension arm shall have a diameter of not greater than 5/8 inch and shall be of a flexible gooseneck design capable of maintaining any desired position. 3.2.4 Lamri. The lamp shall be capable of generating a mean spherical candlepower (MSCP) of n

11、ot less than 0.5. 3.2.5 Inspection mirror. If required, the light shall include an inspection mirror that attaches to the lamp end of the extension arm and shall be of the type and size specified (see 7.2(g). 3.2.6 Carrying: case. Unless otherwise specified (see 7.2 (h), the inspection probe light,

12、extension arm(s), min-or(s), spare lamp(s), and other components, as specified, shall be packaged in a carrying case for easy transport and handling. 3.3 htional commnents. ptional components shall be furnished as specified (see 7.2(i). 3.4 Pedormance. The inspection probe light shall operate when s

13、witched on with the appropriate number and type of batteries installed. The extension arm shall be capable of maintaining its position at all desired adjustments, including fully contracted and fully extended, during normal handling and movement. 4. REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS +- I: 4.1 Recovered materi

The light shall meet the salient characteristics of this commercial item description, conform to the manufacturers own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices, and be the same light offered

16、for sale in the commercial market. The government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance. 5.2 Warranty. Unless otherwise specified (see 7.2(j), the manufacturers standard commercial warranty, terms, and conditions shall apply. 6. PACKAGING. Preservation, packing, and marking shall b
