29、2010 1C49.3-10Aluminum 1350 wire, annealed and intermediate tempers, for electrical purposes1Scope1.1This Standard covers the electrical and mechanical characteristics of aluminum 1350 wire, in annealed and intermediate tempers, for stranding into conductors or for use as solid single conductors.1.2

34、wire of the same diameter that are produced(a) at the same location;(b) under the same manufacturing conditions; and(c) during the same time period.Temper designations 1350-0 temper a designation for wire that has been drawn or rolled to final size and then heat treated to its lowest-strength temper

35、 to improve ductility and remove the effects of cold working.C49.3-10 Canadian Standards Association2 February 2010H temper a property of wire whose strength is increased by strain hardening through cold working in a drawing operation.Notes: (1) The “H” is always followed by two digits. The first di

36、git following the “H” indicates the specific combination of further operations, as follows:(a) H1 Strain hardening only, without supplementary thermal treatment; and(b) H2 Strain hardened an d then partially annealed.(2) The second digit following the “H” indicates the final degree of strain hardeni

37、ng. The range is from “0” (fully annealed) to “9” (fully hard). The following are common tempers:(a) “0“ fully annealed;(b) “2“ 1/4 hard;(c) “4“ 1/2 hard;(d) “6“ 3/4 hard;(e) “8“ fully hard; and(f) “9“ fully hard, exceeding fully hard temper “8“ by 14 MPa.Intermediate temper the range of tempers bet

38、ween fully annealed “0“ and fully hard “9“.Notes: (1) Intermediate temper includes 1/4, 1/2, and 3/4 hard tempers.(2) For example, “H26“ is a strain-hardened wire produced through cold working with subsequent heat treatment to a final temper of 3/4 hard.4 Requirements for wire4.1 GeneralThe wire sha

39、ll be free from all imperfections not consistent with good manufacturing practice.4.2 Wire sizesWire sizes shall be expressed as the diameter of the wire in millimetres, measured to the nearest 0.01 mm.4.3 Diameter and permissible variations4.3.1The diameter of the wire shall not vary from its nomin

40、al diameter by more than the amount specified in Table 1.Table 1Permissible variations in wire diameter(See Clause4.3.1.)4.3.2The diameter of the wire shall be determined in accordance with the method specified in Clause 5 of CAN/CSA-C60889.For the purpose of verifying compliance with this requireme

42、 made before final drawingJoints may be made in rods and wire before final drawing, in accordance with good manufacturing practice.4.4.2 Joints made during final drawing or in finished wireJoints may be made during final drawing or in the finished wire by(a)electric butt welding;(b) electric butt co

43、ld-upset welding; or (c) cold pressure welding.Not more than two such joints shall be present in any reel or coil of the nominal specified weight.4.4.3 Tension test (optional)Joints as permitted in Clause 4.4.2 may be subjected to tension tests. When such tests are performed, the minimum tensile req

44、uirements specified in Table 2 shall be met.Note: Sampling is subject to agreement between the purchaser and the manufacturer.4.5 Tensile propertiesThe wire shall conform to the requirements specified in Table 2.Table 2Tensile properties(See Clauses4.4.3 and 4.5.)4.6 ResistivityThe volume resistivit

48、hods5.1 SamplingSamples for test purposes shall be taken from the outer ends of not less than 10% of reels or coils but from not fewer than five reels or coils (or the entire lot if the lot is smaller than five reels or coils).5.2 Tensile strengthThe tensile strength of the wire shall be tested usin

49、g the apparatus and method specified in Clause 10.1 of CAN/CSA-C60889.5.3 ResistivityThe electrical resistivity of the wire shall be determined in accordance with Clause 11 of CAN/CSA-C60889.5.4 Retests5.4.1When a sample from any reel or coil is tested, and the results do not comply with the requirements of this Standard, two additional samples shall be taken from the same reel or coil. Both of these samples shall meet the requirements. If these samples do not meet the requirements, the lot from which they are selected sha
