GENERAL REQUIREMENTS Material - The PVC jacketing shall be manufactured from the polymer of vinyl chloride or the copolymer of vinyl chloride as a principal material

35、. Tensile Strength - When tested in accordance with ASTM D 638 or D 882, the tensile strength of th

37、e PVC sheet shall be 35 MPa minimum in both the transverse and longitudinal directions. Impact Strength - When tested in accordance with ASTM D 1822 the minimum impact strength of the PVC sheet shall be as follows: . Temperature Minimum Impact Strength -20C 400 kJ/m2 0C 600 kJ/m2 +23“C 800 kJ/m2 Hea

38、t Distortion - When the PVC sheet is tested in accordance with ASTM D 1637 (See Appendix A) or D 648, the tensile heat distortion temperature shall be 65OC minimum. Surface Burning Characteristics - When tested in accordance with CANAJLC-S 102.2, the PVC sheet shall have a flame spread classificatio

39、n not greater than 25 and smoke development not greater than 50. Water Vapour Permeance - When tested in accordance with ASTM E 96, Procedure C and calculated as the average of four specimens, the sheet shall have a water vapour permeance of less than 9 ng/Pa.s-m2. FlexibUily - When subjected to the

40、 test described in par. 6.1.1, the PVC sheet shall not crack. Dimensional Stability - When subjected to the test in par. 6.1.2, the PVC sheet shall not shrink more than 1.5% in either direction. Width - The PVC sheet shall be between 700 and 1400 mm wide as specified (par. 7.1). The tolerance on the

41、 width shall be +6 mm and -O mm. Length - The length of PVC sheet shall be as specified (par. 7.1). If the PVC sheet is supplied in rolls, all material in any one roll shall be continuous. The tolerance on length shall be f10 mm. Preformed Shapes - Preformed shapes shall be as specified for the appl

42、ication (par. 7.1). Colour - The PVC sheet shall be a uniform white colour unless otherwise specified (par. 7.1). Chemical Resistance - When tested in accordance with ASTM D 543 or D 1784, the PVC sheet shall be resistant to acids, alkalis, hydrocarbons, alcohols, and mineral and vegetable oils Fung

43、i Resistance - When tested in accordance with ASTM C 665, Section 13.9, the PVC sheet shall not show greater fungi growth than control specimens. PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY Packaging, Packing and Marking - Unless otherwise specified (par. 7.1), packaging, packing and marking shall conform to normal co

44、mmercial practice. Labelling - When specified (par. 7.1), labelling of each package of PVC sheet shall include the Standard number, the product name, and the name of the manufacturer or supplier. INSPECTION Testing FZexibili&y - Cut five strips of material 200 by 25 mm in the machine direction. Cond

45、ition the specimens for at least 24 h at -10C and then bend once through 90“ around a 6 mm diameter mandrel at -10C with a uniform bending rate so the total bend is made in 2 s. Draw fine reference lines on the specimens 250 mm apart to an accuracy of M.2 mm in both the machine and cross-machine directions. hge the specimens by immersing them in water at room temperature for 3 h, dry at room temperature for 16 h, then oven dry

48、 at 50C for 3 h. Following the aging treatment, condition the specimens to constant mass at 23 f 2C and 50 f 5% RH. Measure the dimensional change on the specimens as follows: Place a flat, smooth-surfaced, evenly distributed mass of 4.5 kg about 250 mm square on the specimen inside the reference li

49、nes and measure the distance between the reference lines to an accuracy of M.2 mm. Calculate the shrinkage in each direction as a percentage of the reference dimensions before aging.
