37、 side of the mate- rial to the other. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS Appearance - The material shall have a uniform appearance and shall be free from visible defects such as holes, tears, blisters and pinholes in ac- cordance with good industry practice. Blocking - The material shall not stick together to an

38、extent that will cause tearing or damage during unrolling. Integrity - Each roll shall be one piece of mate- rial. Thermal Stability - The material shall be ade- quately stabilized against long-term thermal deg- radation, by incorporation of an appropriate low- volatility anti-oxidant. NOTE: This ca

39、n be a mixture, but it must contain a free radical scavenging type, to provide protec- tion at the moderate service temperatures encoun- tered by vapour barrier films. Clearly, anti-oxi- dants that are inherently immiscible with poly- ethylene and bloom to the film surface in several months are tota

40、lly unacceptable. See par. 5.7 and 5.8. DETAIL REQUIREMENTS Sheet Length and Width - The length and width of the sheet shall be not less than specified as meas- ured according to IS0 1923. Resin Properties - Only virgin resin shall be em- ployed of density range 0.905 to 0.930 g/mL and maximum melt

41、index of 1.5 g/10 min. Density and melt index are measured as per ASTM D 1505 and D 1238 respectively. Tensile Strength and Elongation - When tested in accordance with ASTM D 882 method A, the mate- rial shall meet the requirements, as outlined below: Tensile Strength, machine direction - 12 MPa min

42、imum. Tensile Strength, transverse direction - 8 MPa minimum. Elongation, machine direction - 225% minimum. Elongation, transverse direction - 350% minimum. Les spcimens dessai ne doivent pas tre prlevs dans les trois premiers tours du rouleau. Pour dterminer la longueur du rouleau, utiliser un rouleau distinct ou tenir compte

45、de la longueur du matriau enlev pour la prpara- tion des spcimens dessai. Conditionnement - Sauf indication contraire de la mthode dessai, les spcimens doivent tre condi- tionns pendant 24 h une temprature de 23 2 2OC et une humidit relative de 50 2 5%.
