Terminology3.1 Definitions of Terms Specific to This Standard:3.1.1 adhesionthe bonding integrity of an organic coatingto the aluminum substrate.3.1.
7、2 corrosion resistancethe ability of an organic coatingto resist attack from manmade and natural elements whilemaintaining adhesion and protecting the aluminum substratefrom corrosion.3.1.3 fence panelfabricated unit consisting of rails andpickets. Also referred to as a fence section.3.1.4 impact re
8、sistancethe measure of an organicallycoated aluminum product to resist indentation; the ability of acoating to resist cracking or loss of adhesion due to reformingthe metal during bending or a shape change from abuse.3.1.5 ornamental accessoryany fitting that adds furtherdecoration to an ornamental
9、aluminum fence system includingitems like finials, caps, picket collars, rings, scrolls, or otherornamental panel inserts.3.1.6 postvertical fence structural component that sup-ports the fence panel in the ornamental aluminum fencesystem.3.1.7 railhorizontal structural component of a fencepanel.3.1.
10、8 tubular pickethollow vertical component of a fencepanel.3.1.9 weathering resistancethe ability of an organicallycoated aluminum fence panel to resist the effects of naturalsunlight and humidity measured by loss of gloss and colorchange (fade) over time.4. Materials and Manufacture4.1 Ornamental al
11、uminum fence pickets, rails, and postsshall be manufactured from aluminum. The testing criteria,within this document, will determine the alloy, temper, andthickness of the aluminum.4.2 Manufacture:4.2.1 Uncoated aluminum extrusion to be protected fromoutdoor elements prior to coating.4.2.2 Chemicals

United States14.3 Organic Coating Material:4.3.1 Organic coating system can be a liquid coat or powdercoat process capable of meeting specifications listed in #
16、8Testing-Surface finish.4.3.2 Organic coating to be applied and cured to the organiccoating manufacturer application and curing specifications.4.4 Visible fittings, screws/mechanical fasteners, and deco-rative ornamental accessories shall be manufactured from asubstrate that will permit the organic
17、coating to meet thecoating specifications listed in #8 Testing-Surface Finish.4.5 Non-visible screwless fasteners, concealed fasteners,and/or screws to be manufactured from a substrate that will notdeteriorate, break down, or corrode over the life of the fencepanel.5. TestingStructural5.1 Structural
18、 Test Method AVertical Load AssembledPanel Testing:5.1.1 Installation of Test SpecimenOne panel and twoposts with mounting hardware will be required.5.1.2 Posts will be mounted to a stationary object at themanufacturers on center distance specified for the model to betested. Allow at least 12 in. of
19、 clearance from grade to thebottom of the fence panel to allow for fence panel deformation.5.1.3 Install the fence panel into or onto the posts using themanufacture specified mounting system for the model beingtested.5.1.4 Distribute weight to the top rail of the panel to betested at two locations 1
20、2 in. on either side of the center pointof the panel. Allow fence panel to support the prescribedweight for two minutes.5.1.5 Remove weight after two minutes and inspect rails fordeformation. Panels are to have less than14 in. visibledeformation after weight is removed.5.1.6 Weight ratings for vario

22、st Method B Picket Testing:5.2.1 Pickets to be inserted in a secured section (in accor-dance with 6.1.7, 6.2.8,or6.3.6) with spacing between rails notto exceed 55 inches. Industrial sections over 72 in. and up to120 in. height to be tested with rail spacing not to exceed 82inches.5.2.2 Minimum of th
23、ree pickets shall be tested using a12-in. by 12-in. flat surface with testing force pulled horizon-tally on a vertically installed section.5.2.3 Apply force centered between posts and rails.5.2.4 Remove weight after two minutes and inspect rails fordeformation. Pickets to have less than14 in. visibl
