3、methods forinstallation of a semi-structural polyethylene (PE) and encap-sulated cement mortar formed-in-place lining system (FIPLS)intended for the rehabilitation of water pipelines from 4 in. to12 in. This renewal process involves installing a folded PEliner with multiple hooks on the outside face
4、 into an existingwater pipeline then pumping cement mortar into the annularspace and progressively reforming the liner against the originalpipe wall by means of forcing a reforming device through thepipeline.1.2 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regardedas standard. The values given in
5、 parentheses are mathematicalconversions to SI units that are provided for information onlyand are not considered standard.1.3 This standard does not purport to address all of thesafety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is theresponsibility of the user of this standard to establish appro
6、-priate safety and health practices and determine the applicabil-ity of regulatory limitations prior to use. Terminology3.1 DefinitionsUnless otherwise indicated, de

The abbreviation ofpolyethylene is PE.3.2 Definitions of Terms Specific to This Standard:3.2.1 liner, na PE sheet with integral anchors extruded ina flat shape then formed with overlapping
11、edges and fusionwelded into a cylindrical shape. The collapsed liner or lay flattube is folded into a C configuration thereby reducing its areaand pulled into the host pipe.3.2.2 cement mortar, na specially formulated cementbased grout.3.2.3 formed-in-place-liner system (FIPLS), nafter inser-tion of
12、 the liner and cement mortar, sequential insertion andreforming of the liner and cement mortar in the host pipe, asemi-structural composite lining of cement mortar with PEexternal surface is formed. See Fig. 1 and Fig. 2.3.2.4 semi-structural, adjlining systems designed tobridge small holes and gaps

18、n of structural classification of lining techniques.The following is taken from Manual M28: “Class II and ClassIII Linings are both interactive and semi-structural systems.Since the stiffness of such a lining is less than that of the hostpipe, all internal pressure loads are transferred to the host
19、pipeleading to their classification as interactive. Such a lining isrequired only to independently sustain internal pressure loadsat discontinuities in the host pipe, such as corrosion holes orjoint gaps, or if the host pipe is subject to structural failure.”4. Materials4.1 Basic Materials:4.2 The P
20、E liner shall be made from PE material meeting allthe minimum physical properties as listed in F 2718, “ Stan-dard Specification for Polyethylene (PE) and Cement Materialsfor an Encapsulated Cement Mortar Lining System for theRehabilitation (FIPLS) of Water Pipelines.” In addition, the PEliner shall
21、 have the properties shown in Table 1.4.3 The cement mortar is used to fill the annular spacebetween outer surface of the liner and the host pipe. Thecement mortar shall have the minimum physical properties aslisted in F 2718, “ Standard Specification for Polyethylene (PE)and Encapsulated Cement Mor
22、tar Lining System for theRehabilitation (FIPLS) of Water Pipelines.”4.4 The Polyethylene and cement mortar formed-in-placelining system (FIPLS) shall have the minimum properties asshown in Table 2.NOTE 1Samples will be taken of the cement mortar material andtested throughout the installation process
23、 to confirm its compliance to theproperties listed in Table 2 and as specified in F 2718, “StandardSpecification for Polyethylene (PE) and Encapsulated Cement MortarLining System for the Rehabilitation (FIPLS) of Water Pipelines.”5. Significance and Use5.1 This practice is for use by specifiers, reg
24、ulatory agen-cies, owners and inspection organizations that are involved inthe rehabilitation of pressure mains and conduits, and inparticular potable water lines in the diameter range of 4 to 12inches. The supplier of the FIPLS lining system product shouldbe consulted for design and installation in
