Scope1.1 This practice specifically addresses the criteria fordetermining the suitability of natural gas pipe

Summary of Practice4.1 The optical fiber systems in existing gas pipelines shallbe designed and installed so that they have a minimal effect onpipeline performance, and current and future gas deliverycapability, and no effect on their structural integrity. Theirdesign and installation shal
18、l also allow for the safe and efficientoperation and maintenance of the pipeline, and provide for thesafe and efficient operation of the optical fiber system. The firststep in the evaluation process is an analysis of the capacity ofthe gas piping to confirm available capacity for the installationof
19、an optical fiber system. The ultimate success of theinstallation and operation of both the optical fiber and gaspipeline systems depends upon the proper evaluation andselection of appropriate pipelines. The steps in the selectionprocess include evaluation of the following items:4.1.1 Pipeline integr
