Asuperscript epsilon () indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.1. Scope1.1 This practice covers the requirements for users oflivestock, meat, and poultry evaluation
3、devices or systems usedto measure and record composition or quality constituents oflive animals, carcasses, and individual cuts of meat, whenthose devices or systems provide data that is used to determineeconomic value. Areas covered include: installation, operatortraining, operation, verification,
4、inspection and maintenance ofthese evaluation devices or systems, and documentation ofprocedures for retention of original data.1.2 This standard does not purport to address all of thesafety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is theresponsibility of the user of this standard to establish
5、appro-priate safety and health practices and determine the applica-bility of regulatory limitations prior to use.2. 6、aluation systems, see Terminology F2463.3.2 Definitions:3.2.1 device operator, nany individual whose job respon-sibilities include the operation of an evaluation device orsystem.3.2.2 document, npermanent physical record, paper orelectronic.3.2.3 documentation, nuse of documents in authenticatingor
7、substantiating an act that may include users guides,technical manuals, setup and installation instructions, labeling,and procedures for retaining original data.3.2.4 original data, ninitial data recorded by the device orsystem.3.2.5 production day, nperiod not exceeding 24 consecu-tive hours beginni
8、ng with the initial production shift.3.2.6 user, nperson or entity that employs an evaluationsystem or device to determine value of live animals, carcasses,or individual cuts of meat or poultry.4. Significance and Use4.1 There are several live animal or carcass evaluationdevices or systems used or u
9、nder development for use indetermination of economic value of live animals, carcasses, orindividual cuts of meat. The correct use of these devices orsystems may affect the reliability of the data.4.2 This practice provides user requirements for installation,operator training, operation, verification
10、, inspection, mainte-nance, and retention of original data.5. Procedure5.1 InstallationAccurate and consistent results can onlybe obtained from a device or equipment that is properlyinstalled and operated. The user shall maintain documentationthat, at the time of installation, the measuring device w
11、asproperly installed according to design specifications and manu-facturers requirements.5.2 Operator Training:5.2.1 The user shall establish a documented training pro-gram which shall include an operator manual to ensure deviceoperators are familiar with the design and operating character-istics of
12、the devices or systems that the user installs, maintains,and operates. The user shall properly train device operators andmaintain documentation that device operators are properlytrained. Assistance in operator training may be obtained fromseveral sources including, but not limited to, device manufac
13、-turer, manufacturer device manuals, or trained service person-nel.5.2.2 For those devices or systems requiring an operator, theuser shall develop and maintain individual operator perfor-mance records, including individual operator error rates, whichshall be measured against standards established by
14、 the user.The user shall have a documented corrective action plan foridentifying and correcting potential sources of operator errorspecific to the evaluation device or system.
