Scope1.1 This test method covers procedures for determining airperformance characteristics of commercial
3、 and householdupright, canister, stick, hand-held, utility, and combination-type vacuum cleaners having provisions for attaching a hoseand incorporating a series universal motor. This test methodcan be applied to the carpet cleaning mode of operation.1.2 These tests and calculations include determin
4、ation ofsuction, airflow, air power, maximum air power, and inputpower under standard operating conditions (see Note 1). Thenozzle mounted on plenum testing is an ideal air performancemeasurement and is not intended to represent the actual airperformance during carpet or floor cleaning.NOTE 1For mor

Significance and Use4.1 The test results allow the comparison of the maximumpotential air power avai
22、lable for cleaning tasks when testedunder the conditions of this test method. The test results do notindicate the actual air power present during the cleaningprocess due to the effects of the various tools in use andsurfaces being cleaned. During the nozzle on plenum chamberair performance testing,
23、the brushroll is unloaded and thiscondition is not representative of the brushroll being in contactwith carpet or other surfaces being cleaned.5.
