These fittings are intended for use in 100 psi (689.5kPa) cold- and hot-water distribution syst

5、ems operating attemperatures up to, and including, 180F (82C). The require-ments for materials, workmanship, dimensions, and markingsto be used on the fittings and rings are also included.1.2 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regardedas the standard. General Requirements6.1 When fittings manufactured according to this specifica-tion are intended for use with the PEX tubing, the f

26、ollowingsections of Specification F877 constitute a part of this specifi-cation.6.1.1 Requirements,6.1.2 Test Methods, and6.1.3 Retest and Rejection.6.2 In addition, when a section with a title identical to thatreferenced in 6.1 appears in this specification, it containsadditional requirements that

27、supplement those appearing inSpecification F877.6.3 When fittings manufactured according to this specifica-tion are intended for use with PE-RT tubing, the followingsections of Specification F2769 constitute a part of thisspecification:6.3.1 Requirements,6.3.2 Test Methods, and6.3.3 Retest and Rejec

28、tion.6.4 In addition, when a section with a title identical to thatreferenced in 6.3 appears in this specification, it containsadditional requirements that supplement those appearing inSpecification F2769.6.5 DimensionsAny randomly selected fitting or fittings,and crimp ring or crimp rings, shall be

Measurements shall be made in accordance withTest Method D2122, except when determining diameters,which is done by making measurements at four locationsspaced approximately 45 apart around the circumference.Inspection and gauging of solder joint ends shall be inaccordan

30、ce with ASME B16.18, ASME B16.22,orMSSSP-104.6.6 GeneralAll performance tests shall be performed onassemblies of fittings, crimp rings, and PEX tubing or PE-RTtubing. Fittings and crimp rings shall meet the material anddimensional requirements of this specification. PEX tubingshall meet the requirem

31、ents of Specifications F876 or F877.PE-RT tubing shall meet the requirements of SpecificationF2769.Assembly of test specimens shall be in accordance with9.1.1. Dimensions7.1 Dimensions and TolerancesThe dimensions and tol-erances of fittings and crimp rings shall be as shown in Fig. 1,Fig. 2, Fig. 3, and Fig. 4, when measured in accordance with6.5.7.1.1 AlignmentThe maximum angular variation of anyopening shall not excee

35、They shall be taperthreads (NPT).8. Workmanship, Finish, and Appearance8.1 The sealing surfaces of the insert shall be smooth andfree of foreign material. Fitting walls shall be free of cracks,holes, blisters, voids, foreign inclusions, or other defects thatare visible to the unaided eye and affect

36、the wall integrity.9. Assembly9.1 Crimp JointsInsert fittings shall be joined to PEXtubing or PE-RT tubing by the compression of a copper crimpring around the outer circumference of the tubing, forcing thetubing material into annular spaces formed by ribs on thefitting. Insert fittings and crimp rin

37、gs shall meet the dimen-sional and material requirements of this standard. PEX tubingshall meet the requirements of Specifications F876 or F877.PE-RT tubing shall meet the requirements of SpecificationF2769. The dimensions and out-of-roundness of the crimp ring,after it has been crimped, shall be in

38、 accordance with Table 1.9.1.1 Crimping ProcedureThe crimping procedure shallbe as follows: slide the crimp ring onto the tubing, insert theribbed end of the fitting into the end of the tubing until thetubing contacts the shoulder of the fitting or tube stop. Forfitting sizes38 to 114 in. the crimp

39、ring shall then be positionedon the tubing so the edge of the crimp ring is18 to14 in. (3.2to 6.4 mm) from the end of the tube. For 112 in. fitting size thecrimp ring shall be positioned14 to38 in. (6.4 to 9.5 mm) fromthe end of tube. For 2 in. fitting size the crimp ring shall bepositioned38 to12 i

40、n. (9.5 to 12.7 mm) from the end of thetube. The jaws of the crimping tool shall be centered over thecrimp ring and the tool shall be held so that the crimping jawsare approximately perpendicular to the axis of the barb. Thejaws of the crimping tool shall be closed around the crimp ring,compressing

41、the crimp ring onto the tubing. The crimp ringshall not be crimped more than once. Product Marking10.1 Quality of MarkingThe marking shall be applied tothe fittings in such a manner that it remains legible afterinstallation and inspection.10.2 Co

49、ntent of Marking:10.2.1 Marking on fittings shall include manufacturersname or trademark, or some other identifying mark, and if sizepermits, PEX/PE-RT or the ASTM standard number, or acombination thereof.10.2.1.1 Where recessed marking is used on fittings, careshall be taken to see that the marking shall not cause cracks orreduce the wall thickness below the minimum specified.10.2.2 Marking on packaging shall include manufacturersname, fitting size, and ASTM F1807.10.2.3 Marking on crimp ring
