Classification3.1 Type IPlate flanges, for sizes 14 in. inside diameter

6、 upto and including 144 in. inside diameter (see Fig. 1).3.2 Type IIRolled angle flanges, for sizes 14 in. up to andincluding 108 in. inside diameter (see Fig. 1).4. Ordering Information4.1 Flanges ordered under this specification shall includethe following:4.1.1 . ASTM designation, title, number, a

7、nd date of thisspecification,4.1.2 Type and material,4.1.3 Nominal pipe size,4.1.4 Quantity, and4.1.5 Inspection of items shall be agreed upon between thepurchaser and the supplier.5. Dimensions and Tolerances5.1 DimensionsDimensions shall be in accordance withTable 1.5.2 Tolerances:5.2.1 Plus or mi

8、nus14 in. on outside and inside diametersshall apply on flanges of 22 in. nominal pipe size and above.The tolerance for flanges for 20 in. nominal size and belowshall be 618 in.5.2.2 Plus or minus116 in. on bolting circle.6. Drilling6.1 Number of holes, hole diameter, and bolt circle areidentical fo

9、r both Type I and Type II flanges.6.2 Bolt holes shall be equally spaced on the bolt circle.6.3 Bolt holes provide for18 in. diameter clearance on bolts.6.4 Drilling of flanges shall be in accordance with Table 1.1This specification is under the jurisdiction of ASTM Committee F25 on Shipsand Marine

14、and Appearance7.1 Flanges manufactured under this specification shall befree of all sharp edges, burrs, projections, weld spatter, andother defects that might be hazardous to personnel or equip-ment, or both.7.2 Welding shall be in accordance with the AmericanBureau of Shipping Rules for Building an

15、d Classing of SteelVessels,ABS GradeA,American Welding Society PublicationsD 1.1, or ASME Code Section IX.7.3 Flange faces shall be smooth and free of projections orindentations that would prevent effective gasket seals.7.4 Flanges when completed shall have no distortion,roundness, or flatness excee

16、ding a tolerance of 618 in.7.5 The surface finish shall be a minimum of 500 in. toensure proper sealing surface for the gasket.7.6 The material to be used for this specification shall be inaccordance with Specification A 36/A 36M, unless prolongedhigh temperatures will be required; in that case ABS

17、Grade Asteel shall be specified in Section 4. For further guidance forselection of materials, see Practice F 1155 and CFR 56.30-10(b)(5).8. Rejection and Rehearing8.1 Flanges that fail to conform to the requirements of thisspecification may be rejected. Rejection may be reported to theproducer or th

18、e supplier promptly in writing. In case ofdissatisfaction with the damaged items, the producer or thesupplier may make claim for a rehearing.9. Certification9.1 When specified in the purchase order or the contract, thepurchaser shall be furnished with certification that samplesrepresenting the flang

19、es have been inspected to meet therequirements of this specification. When specified in thepurchase order or contract, a report of the results shall befurnished.10. Packaging and Package Marking10.1 Flanges shall be marked on the edge of each flangeshowing the purchase order number, ASTM designation

20、 num-ber, material and type, size, and name of manufacturer.10.2 The flanges shall be packaged in a manner acceptablefor shipment by common carrier.11.
