1、Designation: D7223 16a An American National StandardStandard Specification forAviation Certification Turbine Fuel1This standard is issued under the fixed designation D7223; the number immediately following the designation indicates the year oforiginal adoption or, in the case of revision, the year o
2、f last revision. A number in parentheses indicates the year of last reapproval. Asuperscript epsilon () indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.1. Scope*1.1 This specification covers the use of purchasing agenciesin formulating specifications for purchases of aviation tur
3、binefuel under contract.1.2 This specification defines one specific type of aviationturbine fuel for civil use in the certification of aircraft. Thespecification can be used as a standard in describing the qualityof this aviation fuel from the refinery to the aircraft.1.3 This specification does not
4、 include the fuels that arecommonly used in aviation turbine engines. Those are listed inSpecification D1655.1.4 The aviation turbine fuel defined by this specificationmay be used in other than turbine engines that are specificallydesigned and certified for this fuel.1.5 The use of EI/IP (Energy Ins
5、titute/Institute of Petro-leum) test methods is permitted. The user of this specificationis referred to Specification D1655 (latest revision), Specifica-tion for Aviation Turbine Fuels, Paragraph 2, ReferencedDocuments and Table 1, Detailed Requirements of AviationTurbine Fuels, Column 4, Test Metho
6、ds, to determine thepairing of the IP test method with the particular detailedrequirement, and to Section 11, Test Methods, to identifyjointed standards and referee methods.1.6 The values stated in SI units are to be regarded asstandard. 22、ine fuel atthe time and place of delivery.4. Classification4.1 One type of aviation turbine fuel is provided, as follows:4.1.1 Jet C-1A relatively wide boiling range volatiledistillate.5. Materials and Manufacture5.1 Aviation turbine fuel, except as otherwise specified inthis specification, shall co
23、nsist of blends of refined hydrocar-bons (see Note 1) derived from conventional sources includingcrude oil, natural gas liquid condensates, heavy oil, shale oil,and oil sands. The use of jet fuel blends, containing compo-nents from other sources, is permitted only on a specific,individual basis (see
24、AnnexA1 on fuels from non-conventionalsources in Specification D1655).NOTE 1Conventionally refined jet fuel contains trace levels ofmaterials which are not hydrocarbons, including oxygenates,organosulfur, and nitrogeneous compounds.5.1.1 Fuels used in engines and aircraft are ultimatelyapproved by t
