Scope1.1 This specification covers asbe

3、stos-free asphalt roof ce-ment suitable for trowel application to roofings and flashings.1.2 The values stated in either SI units or inch-pound unitsare to be regarded separately as standard. The values stated ineach system may not be exact equivalents; therefore, eachsystem shall be used independen

4、tly of the other. Combiningvalues from the two systems may result in non-conformancewith the standard.1.3 The following precautionary caveat pertains only to thetest method portion, Section 8 of this specification: Thisstandard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns,if any, associate

Materials and Manufacture4.1 Asphalt roof cement shall consist of an asphalt base,volatile petroleum solvents, and mineral and/or otherstabilizers, excludin

11、g asbestos, mixed to a smooth, uniformconsistency suitable for trowel application.5. Composition5.1 Asphalt roof cement complying with this specificationshall conform to the following composition limits:min maxWater content, % . 3.0Nonvolatile content, % 70 .Mineral and/or other stabilizers, % 15 40

Physical Requirements6.1 UniformityA thoroughly stirred sample shall show noseparation of solvent or settling that cannot be overcome bymoderate stirring after standing for 72 h at room temperature ina closed container.6.2 WorkabilityThe cement shall be of a consistency

20、ubmit the lot after removal of those packagesnot conforming to the specified requirements.12.
