Scope1.1 This pr
3、actice provides tables of volume correctionfactors which may be used to convert volumes of asphaltmeasured at different temperatures to a volume at a standardbase temperature. These tables are applicable to all types ofasphalts except emulsified asphalts.1.2 This practice provides tables to convert
4、asphalt volumesto 15C or 60F from volumes measured at any temperaturefrom 25 to +275C or 0 to 500F.1.3 The conversions from the two tables are not equivalentbecause the temperatures of 15C and 60F that they are basedon are not equal.NOTE 1Correction factors in Table 1 and Table 2 are for use in plac

Significance and Use3.1 Asphalts change in volume with change in temperature.They are loaded or transferr
7、ed at widely varying temperatures.Volume correction factors are used to adjust bulk volumesmeasured at those temperatures to corresponding volumes at abase temperature of 15C or 60F for the purposes of custodytransfer and accounting operations.3.2 Correction factors as provided in this practice have
8、proven to be sufficiently accurate for the intended purposes.3.3 Coefficients of expansion used for development of datain this practice are as follows:Table Column A Column B1 0.00035 0.000402 0.00063 0.000724. Procedure4.1 Volume correction factors are provided for volumeadjustments to 15C in Table
9、 1 and 60F in Table 2. The tablesare entered with asphalt temperature at which bulk volume ismeasured.4.2 The tables provide two sets of factors in columnslabeled A and B. The selection of the appropriate column, A orB, is defined by table footnotes. The selection is based onasphalt density at 15C,
10、API gravity at 60F, or by the specificgravity 60/60F. Column A factors apply to the majority ofasphalts.4.2.1 Values for density at 15C, API gravity at 60F, andspecific gravity 60/60F may be obtained byTest Method D70,Test Method D 3289, or Test Method D 3142.4.2.2 Volume correction factors (see Not
