Scope1.1 This practice provides tables of volume correctionfactors which may be used to convert volumes of asphaltmeasured a
3、t different temperatures to a volume at a standardbase temperature. These tables are applicable to all types ofasphalts except emulsified asphalts.1.2 This practice provides tables to convert asphalt volumesto 15C 60F from volumes measured at any temperaturefrom 25 to +275C 0 to 500F.1.3 The values
4、stated in either SI units or inch-pound unitsare to be regarded separately as standard. The values stated ineach system may not be exact equivalents; therefore, eachsystem shall be used independently of the other. Combiningvalues from the two systems may result in non-conformancewith the standard.NO

Significance and Use3.1 Asphalts change in
7、volume with change in temperature.They are loaded or transferred at widely varying temperatures.Volume correction factors are used to adjust bulk volumesmeasured at those temperatures to corresponding volumes at abase temperature of 15C or 60F for the purposes of custodytransfer and accounting opera
8、tions.3.2 Correction factors as provided in this practice haveproven to be sufficiently accurate for the intended purposes.3.3 Coefficients of expansion used for development of datain this practice are as follows:Table Column A Column B1 0.00035 0.000402 0.00063 0.000724. Procedure4.1 Volume correct
9、ion factors are provided for volumeadjustments to 15C in Table 1 and 60F in Table 2. Thetables are entered with asphalt temperature at which bulkvolume is measured.4.2 The tables provide two sets of factors in columnslabeled A and B. The selection of the appropriate column, A orB, is defined by tabl
10、e footnotes. The selection is based onasphalt density at 15C, API gravity at 60F, or by thespecific gravity 60/60F. Column A factors apply to themajority of asphalts.4.2.1 Values for density at 15C, API gravity at 60F, andspecific gravity 60/60F may be obtained by Test MethodD70, Test Method D3289,
