Terminology3.1 DefinitionsFor definitions of terms in this specifica-tion refer to Terminology D1711.4. Classification4.1 This specification covers two types of

5、glass cloth tapes,as follows:4.1.1 Type IWoven glass cloth with silicone adhesive.4.1.1.1 Grade A0.18 mm (0.007 in.).4.1.1.2 Grade B0.25 mm (0.010 in.).4.1.2 Type IIWoven glass cloth impregnated with polytet-rafluoroethylene, silicone adhesive, nominal thickness 0.13mm (0.005 in.).5. Materials and M

6、anufacture5.1 The tape backing shall consist of woven glass fibers.5.2 The silicone pressure-sensitive adhesive coating shall besmooth and uniform and as free from lumps and bare spots asbest commercial practice will permit. The adhesive shall nottransfer when the tape is unwound from the roll.6. Re

7、quirements6.1 All tapes shall meet the requirements given in Table 1for the types specified.7. Rejection9.1 If the test results of any roll do not conform to therequirements prescribed in the specifica

12、tion, two additionalrolls shall be selected and tested. If one of the two additionalsample rolls also does not conform to the requirements, the lotmay be rejected at the option of the purchaser.10. Packaging and Package Marking10.1 PackagingThe packaging shall withstand shipmentand shall give the pr

13、oduct ample protection against damage.The individual rolls shall not adhere to each other or to thecontainer.10.2 MarkingEach package shall be marked with thename of the manufacturer, the ASTM specification number andtype, and the width and length of the rolls.11.
